Breaking News coming out of Celtic Park this afternoon is that manager Sam Bradwell has decided this season will be his last in charge of Celtic and it could be his last in football management if reports are to be believed, leaving Celtic doesn’t seem too much of a shock to understand as Bradwell tussled with the decision only 2 months ago and decided to stay at least for this season, so that comes as no surprise, what potentially does is leaving the world of management for good, its well documented that personally Bradwell has had a rough year to say the least and maybe this might be the reason for that extra bit of reported info which is currently wide of the mark as the statement reads.
“I have made the decision, that this will be my last here at Parkhead, what we achieved last season as a club was the stuff of fairy tales and it will forever live in my memory, I came here as a tip of the hat to my father who had just taken the job and never got to really do anything with it, had we just got promotion last season and come out of the DBC early on id of felt unfulfilled and wanted to at least bring home some silverware and that could of taken years, I tussled with this 2 months ago and I think that we managed to win the DBC in its first season and with the last team my father managed, I feel fulfilled, that was for him, I owed it to the club to have a season in the top flight after getting them there but I don’t see the story extending any longer than this season, me and my family have no ties to Celtic other than my Father managing the team for less than 2 months, he wanted a change of scenery from a Derby side where as much as his love remained had become a bit of a brick wall, my expectation that if my Dad was still here, he likely wouldn’t of managed for many more seasons. I personally am a realist and I've become content with probably always being outside of a title race, that’s ok for me, I don’t envisage ever being a top team or challenging at the top of the pile and that’s ok for me but it means that I would require something for me to stay content rather than doing 100 transfers a season at a club that probably doesn’t need it or expect to ever be top of the pile, but that conversation will be had another day, I just felt it was the right time to let the fans know the situation, I'm sure there will be more talked about in the coming weeks and months, my focus is to have the best final season we can and nothing else at this moment in time, I don’t know whether I will stay in the world of football or not, conversations need to be had, ultimately I will do what feels right for me and my family”
So no clarification on whether Bradwell will retire from football management completely but one thing has been made certain, Bradwell will no longer be in charge of the Parkhead club come the end of this season, I'm sure that he will want to go out on the biggest high possible, with a mediocre start to the season so far, Bradwell will hope he can at least keep this Celtic side in the division.
