BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
This was a really poor result for us, I think we didn't deserve to lose this one as the stats suggest that it was an even game and the scoreline flatters the opposition to some degree, you know things are going against you when your best performer gets injured on the hour and needs to go off.
It's disappointing that not one Dortmund player stepped up to try and get us back in the game, thankfully Daka is okay for the next game as it seems we will need him.
On a positive note, we have a few players close to rating up, which hopefully will help us out a little.
Sporting Lisbon's first away game of the season came against the more successful Bank's brother from FFO1. Andy finished runners up in the last season of FFO1 before being rebranded as "The Old Lady" Juventus.
Both sides had won their opening two games in the League and Cup with Juventus slapping a T-Sheet 12-0 which led to AB telling the press about his great tactical nous.
The Juventus faithful were in full voice expecting to see their side to blitz little Sporting Lisbon with their attacking prowess.
However Juventus lived up to their nickname and setup like an Old Lady with a ultra defensive 5-1-2-2-0 anti football Counter tactic.
Sporting Lisbon however came to play football with attacking intent.
Sporting Lisbon flew out the traps especially Eden Hazard who went on a mazy run playing a one two before smashing the ball into the net to give the Lisbon Lions a 1-0 lead.
Juventus opened up a little bit more changing to 4-1-2-2-1 European tactic with Sporting Lisbon moving to a 5-1-2-0-2 Passing tactic.
The game became very even but Juventus shots were going wide and Sporting Lisbon were finding Vandevoordt in superman form.
You felt that Sporting Lisbon really needed to score a second goal with all the chances they were creating and sure enough that point was rammed home in the 2nd injury minute of the first half when Adli setup Botman who pulled the game level.
There were gasps and groans from the home fans in the Allianz Stadium when AB instructed his players to play the starting anti football formation and tactics. Windebank moved back to 5-1-0-0-4 but decided to keep a possession based game.
Smelling blood Windebank instructed his charges to throw the kitchen sink at the Old Lady in the 60th minute and replaced Hazard with Mata.
Vandevoordt was finally beaten in the 71st minute when the ever impressive Casemiro added yet another assist to his tally when he found Frenkie who went to Hollywood dispatching a cheeky lob over the desperate Juventus keeper.
Both sides switched tactics again and the question was could Sporting Lisbon see out the final 20 plus minutes of the game to hold on to a famous victory.
Well Sporting Lisbon did not have to hang on they dominated the final quarter of the game and boos surrounded the Allianz Stadium apart from the away end that were doing the conga.

Another great performance by the lads today and a thoroughly deserved three points. Andy is a great manager who has a history of sucking the life out of games with his defensive setup and negative tactics, I told the boys lets have a go today and they executed that plan to perfection.
We had more of the ball 53% and created 19 chances to their 12 with 10 of ours on target. We limited them to long range efforts due to 9 of their players always being in their own half but I aint complaining.
Our attacking and passing intent led to us having 5 corners to zip for them as well.
So here we are the first week of FFO2 over and it has been a great week. Our 10 men slapped JB's Bayern Munich silly, we got to the 2nd round of the EFL Cup comprehensively beating Italian Side Napoli and we round it off outplaying and beating AB's Juventus in their own back yard. What a great Birthday present.
The players have set the bar now they have to try and do this week in week out, can they do it, I bloody hope so
A 3-man defence didn’t really work in the cup and so 12-rated Gammelby was given the opportunity of stepping into the first team for a rare start. The defensive woes continue when he was promptly sent off after only 11 minutes. Sessegnon dropped into defence but the 1-man defecit handed celtic the chance of controlling the game.
However it was Diaby who gave Madrid the away side the lead direct from a free kick.
56 mins in and buendia grabbed a leveller that perhaps Henderson should have saved
The game looked like it was heading for a draw when Pasalic smashed home the late winner on 87 mins.
Manager Simon Marsh commented “We have had our defensive issues and somehow come out with three wins. On another day we get nothing today. Thankfully Mbabu is fit for Valencia but we need to sort out the side sooner rather than later and some negotiations are taking place”.
With both sides deciding to play attacking football you'd expect a game filled with goals, however after Lyon got an early goal we struggled to make our superior shots count and it took until the 63rd minute for that man De Bruyne to get an equaliser. Both sides pushed for the winner but two strong Goalkeeping performances kept the strikers at bay.
Roma welcome wannabe big boys Bayern Munich next and fully expect to get back to winning ways.
Bayern 5-2 Sevilla
Bayerns first home game of the season resulted in a great victory and performance. Jon Banks had the following to say
"We did a lot of work tactically over the close season to look at the last few seasons and the games we lost, where we can improve and so on. Sevilla did the double over us last season and it stunk. We came here today to welcome the Munich fans to this new era and squad of players with goals, passion and hard work.
To see all 4 of my forward players scoring was also very pleasing"
Little bit down about this result, Rodrygo missed a pen - it should have been 9, but as it is we will have to settle for eight I suppose. At the end of the day it was only 2-1 at half time so that's not too bad considering. If I have to pick anybody out today from the game it's an obvious one. My boy, my love child Harvey Elliot nabbed a hat trick to continue his progress. Three wonderful goals from him. Two from Sterling. One apiece from Diaz and Rodygo as all of my attacking quadrant get in on the goals. Our multi faceted approach to the season is going well, but we will have to show other facets against tougher competition shortly.

My first game in charge of a side playing against a side in the “banter” league. And we should’ve won. Harris said “We played very well, we took it to a very good side, even though they went to 10 men they’re far superior. A 40 yard screamer disallowed changed the course of the game and I cannot make any more comments without possibly feeling the wrath of the FA, but the refereeing was absolutely disappointing. Hopefully it falls in our favour later in the season. Moving on, Marshy is a quality manager and it would’ve been nice to get the points but we must go back to training work hard and see what we can do on the weekend.”
We were fortunate to win this one to be honest, I think a draw would have been a fairer outcome but obviously I'm not complaining as there will be plenty games where we don't get what we deserve.
Did a couple of deals with Inter during the bonanza and it seemed inevitable that one of the players involved would score the winner - I was thinking probably Olmo or Dembele for them or Coutinho for us but lo and behold it was David Alaba that came up trumps. Elsewhere a quiet day for Jesus but he just managed to limp up to 21 rated which is a bonus.
Anyway a great 3 points on the back of the Lazio win and it's been a solid start for us but that's all it is. Long long way to go.
Disappointing result for us, not due to the loss but how it happened. Gary always comes at me with A and it seems my defence is shit scared of that as we never win....Another C vs A with an early goal for the team playing A. This time in the first minute, nightmare.
We managed to get back into the game after S_Botman scored in first half stoppage time but entering the games final 15 minutes, Sporting Lisbon grabbed the game winner through F_de_Jong and we couldn't get back into the game. Note to self, Gary has huge stones.
Statistically we were outplayed, especially in terms of shots on target with only 2 on target from a possible 12 shots, very poor.
We have to pick ourselves back up and move onto our next game. Good game Gary.
Well what an interesting game this was
1-0 down then back to 1-1 then 2-1 down Then 2-2 then we went on to win going by the stats we deserved to win, goals from two defenders , midfielder and a striker good that we can get goals from anyway the one that surprised me the most was B_Yilmaz he was the lowest ranked players and he was a sub and get managed to get and goal and man of the match so definitely happy with this result
After a disappointing start to the season in our defeat at home by Rangers we changed things around slightly and went back to having 2 up front.
We took the lead shortly before half time as on loan defender Maya Yoshida got himself on the scoresheet for the first time in Monaco colours and I hoped we could hold that lead until the break but that wasn't to be as Garcia scored for Valencia with the last kick of the half.
5 minutes after half time veteran Uruguayan defender Sebastien Coates grabbed a second for Monaco to restore the lead, and give the fans a third goal in 10 minutes of football. We brought on Brazilian defender Iago with 20 minutes to go and he was able to make the two tackles he needed to earn himself a payrise!
Good game Sanchez, good luck for the rest of the season
we were predicatble as we have not changed tactic since game one and its showing with 1 win out of 3 games, 2 of which i would say we were hard done by including this one but thats life and if we go into games being easy to read we deserve to lose, it seems beating PSG is the highlight of what so far is a poor season, we are though in a rut and that stems from me which is not good for the team so we shall see where we are come Sunday and decide my future longterm as the fire is just not there at the minute. All the best to Barca they deserve the three points. gg mate
