  • Juventus land star boy G_Moscardo as they splash the cash

    In the longest spot auction to date, Juventus have FINALLY landed 19 year old Brazilian G_Moscardo for a hefty fee of £145,000,000.

    The all rounder is said to be heading out on loan immediately to a Premier League club after the auction for his services took over a week to conclude.

    The bidding began last week between the likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich & PSG before the likes of Manchester United & Juventus got involved.

    The days passes and it seemed to be a two horse race between United & Juventus until Saturday where Manchester City & PSG dipped their toes into the auction but after a further two days, the Juventus bid of £145,000,000 made yesterday has now stood unbeaten for over 24 hours thus meaning the auction is over and the hot prospect will now join the Italian team.

    For a period of time it appeared that the winning team would get Moscardo for much less than his market value but now that the bidding is over, many have said that Juventus have either paid a fair market price, or have over paid for the youth.

    Earlier in the season, Juventus sold another 19 year old (S_Vos) for £115,000,000 to FC Barcelona, but the question is….Is Moscardo worth the extra £30,000,000?

    To answer this, and more, we spoke to Juventus manager Andy Banks;

    “We’re delighted to welcome the lad to the club. His fee is a big one and obviously we would have preferred to have paid a lot less but in an open auction like this that was never going to happen.

    When you have certain clubs whose sole purpose was to ensure that the bidding reached a certain level, it seems we were always going to have to pay over their bank balance.

    In the current market, Moscardo probably isn’t worth £145,000,000 but you’ve got to look to the future in this job and what kind of player he’ll develop into for us.

    Add to that the fact that players like him aren’t easy to find. Compared to some of the players who have entered the game via the spot actions, those players are ten a penny so we’ve had to pay through the nose for him and it’s acceptable to us to have had to do this.

    Some may think that we’ve paid too much but the way that I look at it, we made a £85,000,000 profit on the sale of S_Vos so this deal has really only cost us £60,000,000.

    Moscardo will now go out on loan for the rest of the season and then he’ll be back in our squad for next season as a big part of the squad moving forwards.”
