Brentford clear house as they list ENTIRE squad for sale
Brentford caretaker manager Andy Banks has wasted little time in trying t put his stamp on the London club.
Late last night, the Juventus head coach made a statement that every single player in the Brentford squad was available and could leave the club for the right deal (Club captain & youth player excluded) which sent shock waves through the club and didn't go down well with the majority of the players, staff and even the fans.
Banks has claimed several times already that the club has too many players and it is a quantity over quality squad and that needs to change.
He's already identified players such as Zanka, Riley, Jensen, Janelt & Maupay as players who he doesn't see in his plans and can leave the club but will other teams make offers for them? Time will tell.
Here to clear things up is caretaker head coach Andy Banks:
"It's clear to me that big big changes need to be made at the club. The 5 or 6 players I've already listed as being surplus to requirement just won't get game time here and need to be replaced. If we can do this then the club would be in a much better position financially and we could then look to improve on some of the first team players and pull away from the relegation zone. It won't be easy but we'll give it our all and not stop working until it's done. This is what I do, I've done it with teams like Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough, Bristol City & Norwich City and from those 4 teams alone, 2 were promoted under my management and another staved off relegation from the Premier League under all odds so I, and the club know that they've got the right man in to replace Hawksworth. Perhaps this is 6 months too late but it can always be turned around.
As for the players, staff and fans who don't like the fact that I've listed the entire team on the transfer list, they are okay to have that opinion but when the club is performing like this, something has to change and a lot of the time it's a change in the playing squad but we also need a change in mentality and how we approach things and come the end of the season when hopefully we're still in the division, then those who are critical now will have changed their tune.
It's going to be a very long road but it's a journey we'll all have to take together starting from now."
