Celtic have wasted no time in making a couple of changes to the squad after a slow start that has seen them lose all 4 games and score only 2 goals, Despite having one of the post potent strike forces in world football, Celtic arent firing, are they conceding too many? possibly, but 7 goals against is shared by some of the best teams in the league, most notably the two Madrid sides, goals are the problem at Celtic Park and Bradwell has decided to make a change early, Heung Min Son leaves The Bhoys and Nicolas Jackson arrives from Fiorentina, a big difference in age was the thing that interested Bradwell the most as well as Jackson being a more versatile player than the departing Korean.
"Son is obviously a terrific player, but he hasnt settled that well and during pre season he and Salah werent linking quite as well as i liked, weve been the better side in at least 2 possibly even 3 of the 4 games we have played, but the chances we have created have been half chances, there is no doubt in my mid that if you get Salah infront of goal on a regular basis he will find the net, but i wanted to take that pressure off Mo and give him the ability to be a goalscorer and creator, the move to bring Nicolas in means we have a player that is probably more of a number 9 than Sonny was and I think hes also capable of playing as an 11 off the left, my hope is that Jackson will knit the side together a bit better and hopefully we cant start making a real impression in front of goal".
The other change comes in the way of Phillips moving on and Kamara arriving as part of the deal that also saw a chunk of cash come to the Scottish club, Bradwell who worked with Kamara during his time at PSV was pleased to bring in a player that he described as more comfortable on the ball than Phillips.
"Kalvin is obviously a terrific player, but hes more of a 4, a sitter and a player that breaks up play, we were in need of more of 6/8 to sit alongside Enzo and help control the game in midfield, when we go forward him and Enzo will push up to create support to the forwards, its not really Kalvins game, hes definitely more of a player who will stay sat in the midfield, these are only minor changes we have made but i think at this stage, minor is all we need, the 2 new lads will arrive on the weekend ready for the home game against Juventus, and we need them to hit the ground running, making the step up to EFL 1 is never an easy one, but we dont have a lot of time to waste."
Asked if he was after any more deals before the weekend Bradwell said, "Id like to get one more forward in, someone that again can play in between the lines, come on and make a difference in the final third and we are in talks with one club, but we will have to wait and see if we can get that over the line"
