Transfer update time from Fiorentina, as the deadline looms close.
Many thought the transfer activity was over at Fiorentina, but no, two more deals have been agreed today that revamps the squad further, just in time for the new season. However, has the gaffa got his sums wrong?
First deal of the day agreed was with Sporting Lisbon, now home of Americano Cheyenne.
It is believed Fiorentina manager Kirby approached Cheyenne with an offer for Kamara, a player he knows well from his time at PSV.
Kamara is the kind of quality defensive midfielder the club need, the right age and skill to potentially make a difference.
However, how could we tempt Lisbon to part with the lad? The obvious offer was to part with Busquets, a mid season auction buy last season who played so impressively. However, despite being potentially the best player in EF2 next season, Busquets is 35, and his 21 skill was likely to garner lots of passes and abs that would take away these from the younger players in the side, who would benefit from them more. Would Cheyenne be interested though? It turns out yes, somewhat, though he was wily enough to suggest a 2 for 2 to bring in a younger player in another position. With 2 oldies and 2 young uns in the frame. It is believed the original offer included an older defender than that eventually agreed, a negotiation took place, and a cash sum given to balance out the deal to everyone's satisfaction. The deal in full -

The second deal of the day was with Red Bull Leipzig, and again had taken some negotiation to get over the line.
Fiorentina had advertised Malen, with the hope to bring in an attacking midfielder for him, but nothing tempting appeared to be happening, so when Kirby saw Martial had been advertised, an alternative plan was considered. Again, it took some discussion about a possible cash addition to try and get the deal over the line. A fee of 10m was eventually agreed, though some late late negotiation may possibly still occur, given a slight miscalculation..

The move gives Fiorentina three 20 rated forwards, though it is believed that Jackson may be asked to drop back into an attacking midfielder role if needed, given he is near to 17 passing.
The fans however are furious 'Man Utd scum here? never! we don't want any ex Manchester united players.' The manager moved to calm the fans though by saying 'well he is a shit Man utd player, and they'll probably sell him soon! Also I believe Malen has been linked to Man Utd in real life, so we had to get rid!'
It is believed the deals above leave the club 5m in debt. But with an extra player than needed, so someone has to go before the end of tomorrow to clear the debt.
More to come..
