PEDRO PORRO, the Spanish defender was snapped up by Manchester United in the FFO Auction.
Porro fits the mould of a true FFO prime defender to huge sections of managers, a defender who can tackle, pass but can also have an effect infront of goal too and it is very surprising a cut price £175m offer see's a player of this ilk sign for the Red Devils. In recent years United have been accused of wanting defenders who stay back and not interfere with attacks or a more commonly known "low shooter". Porro, of course is the opposite, and a defender who will be found sniffing for chances himself up the other end which may suggest a tilt in tactical approach.
His arrival has now opened the door for Frenchman Tanguy Nianzou to leave after United received offers from 3 clubs with a bidding war ongoing as we speak. It could be confirmed with one more transfer window due to open before the season starts.
During the unveiling Outten said: "To me, we've signed the best player on the auction we could've and we've saved some ridiculous amount of money on his market value. Porro fits the bill of what we wanted this window and gives more options and flexibility in how we approach each game. We knew Bellingham would be too far, so after him, Porro was the only player we would consider. He's maybe the best signing we've had from an auction, given how much we have had to spend over the years on certain players. This one absolutely is the biggest bargain we've had. We can't wait to see him in a red shirt."
Asked about more business Outten added:"We will make a change or two further, we have too many players and our finances are stretched for a few seasons. Tanguy is likely to leave unless something else comes up with one or two players considering a new challenge."
IS PORRO UNITED'S BEST AUCTION WIN?
Since the reboot, there has been 4 auctions, and United have been successful in each of them bellow are each player and how they fared.

J_Cancelo - 1 of 3 defenders signed, the experienced Portuguese player cost a fair few quid via the conventional style format. The Portuguese helped United improve domestically in the league finishing 3rd, but the club fell at the first hurdle in Europe. United also reached the FA Cup final but the second final in 2 seasons where United started with injuries and suspensions to key players, this time ended very poorly and reds got humbled. He did have 11 goal contributions last season as the clubs main ball playing defender.
P_Hincapie - Brought in during the midseason reverse auction and had United not accepted the chance when they did, a blind bidder would've had him for £1m less. It was always going to be hard to make a big impact mid campaign. He did though feature in last seasons FA cup nightmare. 2 shots in 20 games certainly fits the "low shoot" box but the Ecuadorian did manage two assists in what was a bit part role, mixed with starts and sub periods.
