  • Simakan returns home after year in London

M_Simakan is set to make his long awaited return to Juventus after a deal between Arsenal and Juventus was agreed during the previous season.

Simakan, who signed for Juventus as a 19 year old from Paris Saint-Germain, was sold back to the French club 2 years later, before he was swiftly moved on to Arsenal where he's spent the last year.

Juventus tried to sign the 23 year old last year when he was eventually sold to the Gunners and they've been trying to structure a deal ever since to bring him home.

The French International will return in a deal that will see S_Botman (The only player that remains at the club from the starting squad that manager Andy Banks took over over 3 years ago) and J_Branthwaite make the switch for life in the Premier League.

Simakan is expected to be rated as the best defender in the Juventus squad, which explains the steep price that the Italian outfit have paid for the 23 year old.

It is believed that J_Branthwaite, who was signed by Juventus from Lyon during the previous season where he spent time on loan at Southampton, has been sold again but to who is currently unknown.

Juventus manager Andy Banks had this to say on the transfers:

"We're delighted to bring Mohamed back to the club. He was sold in a deal with we felt would set us up better in the long term, but any chance we got since we sold him, we wanted to bring him back and finally we have done that.

We've paid a lot for him but players like him are very rare. For us, he was the only defender out there who we had a real interest in all things considered and for us to be able to bring him back to the club, we're very happy to have got the deal over the line.

We'll enjoy the off season and when we get back together as a squad, we'll expect him to lead the back line for us next season."

M_Simakan released this statement via social media:

"I'm very happy to have made this change, I loved my time with Juventus and I'm looking forwards to going back to a club who win trophies.

There has been no chance of that here, with the poor management in and out of the games.

I look forward to helping Juventus solidify their place as Italy's best team."
