    Arsenal Announce Trafford Signing

    With this pre season set to be a testing time for many of the clubs in FFO due to the financial fair play rulings in place, its anyones guess as to what players will be bought and sold and for what with being time with a lot cash available to sides but Arsenal have today confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Millwall for the signing of James Trafford who has signed a six season deal at The Emirates ;

    The twenty two year old enjoyed a superb season in South London under the management of Gary Windebank and so it came as a surprise to many when their prized possession was made available for transfer but it alerted the red side of North London and after short talks, a deal was agreed. In return, Rome-Jayden Owusu-Oduro will be leaving Arsenal and moving the other way along with a cash fee as part of the deal.

    The first deal that will see Arsenal active in what will surely be a strange market, but none the less, a transfer that the club are delighted to have been able to do as the Arsenal Manager said moments ago to FFO News ;

    " James Trafford is a player that we heard a lot about last season from various sources and scouts in the game, was very developed by Windy we must say and one that I didn't see becoming available but once we found out about his availability we had to at least make an attempt to sign him. Luckily we was able to offer what Millwall wanted for him, the talks were like they always are with Windy, straight to the point and no messing about, lets get the deal done so we thank them for the quick deal and in all honesty, a great deal for both sides and for us, pleased to get our first signing confirmed and announced "

    The Arsenal boss also gave a brief insight to the clubs transfer plans for this pre season ;

    " Its already proving to be a very tough transfer market right now with the current level of funds available and with so many sides needing to bring player as a matter of urgency, players that were once worth little are now going for a premium and to see this taking place has a mass effect on other areas of the market which some sides are now finding out.

    We will be active but I've been told that in order to buy we have to sell so we do expect to see some leaving us but also some arriving in as we do intend to make changes ahead of next season as well keeping an eye on other areas like the stadium and academy.

    We have a few deals lined up which will be announced as and when the time is right, a priority for us is to get back to the squad limit of twenty three after seeing a few leave and we are very close to that but this window will see a couple of big departures leave that much I can confirm
    ".
