We take a look at the updated summary of which teams have the best ratio when it comes to scoring and conceding goals. Those in the minus could be seen as fortunate or possibly having the right skill sets or picking the right game tactics to take advantage of tactical bonus.

Ac Milan head the way thank to their amazing clinical shooting bagging a goal every 5.79 shots. Messi has been on fire scoring 12 goals from 43 shots overall and free player Aleman has managed to progress to 18-rated after scoring 6 goals.

Paris SG are in second place largely due to their ability to soak up more chances at their own net. They do have a 26-rated keeper and a manager who claims to allow the opposition to attack their side late in the game. Conceding at a rate of 11.78 is a long way ahead of any other side.

Barca have a good mix of the two having turned an overall positive shot count of 57 into a +14 goal difference.

At the other end we see a frustrated Ryan Fields Lazio in the bottom three. It is currently taking 11.54 shots to score a goal. Perhaps an issue with playing 3 defensive midfielder and only having 3 genuine goal-scorers in the side........but then Ac Milan only have 3 also.....

Worse still is Celtic taking a mammoth 14.29 shots to score a goal despite having a 24-rated striker in the game.

and spare a thought for Leverkusen taking 14.64 shots to score a goal. This one makes more sense with a trio of 19-rated strikers the best options in the team at present.

    ACM - 4.11
    PSG - 3.29
    BCA - 3.11
    JUV - 2.80
    BYM - 2.48
    RMA - 2.04
    INT - 1.18

      Round 18 Atletico madrid 4 Leverkusen 2

This one had another deja vu moment. ATM were leading the shot count 6-0 when Leverkusen scored with their first attack. Leading the shot count 15-3 Leverkusen scored a second goal. Unbelievable!. Atletico laid seige on the Leverkusen goal for the remainder of the game and thankfully in the end a 26-5 shot count eventually brought victory.

      Round 17 Bayern Munich 0 Atletico 4

Probably the best result of the season to date as three points were clawed back on a Bayern side that have been firing well this season. A very good performance and result

Round 16 Atletico Madrid 2 Paris SG 2

Atletico just never seem to get a win against the worlds best team. 8 minutes in and 2-0 up maybe this was going to be their day? 12 minutes later and its 2-2. A decent point but if the team are to catch up they need to pull off some big wins against the better sides.

Round 15 Atletico Madrid 1 Sporting Lisbon 2

One of those games that Atletico are unfortunately becoming famous for. A shot count of 19-9 should have seen a comfortable win for the home side containing better players. 6 of Lisbons shot came in the latter part of the game with Atletico forced to chase the game. A really poor result against a side who revamped the team into a much younger version.

      Round 14 Borussia Dortmund 0 - 1 Atletico Madrid

A huge late goal from Muani gave the side back-to-back wins and big three points to see the league table improving. An overall shot count of 12-18 enough to finally break the deadlock. Three wins on the bounce have taken the club into 09th place on the fringes of champions league places.

      Round 13 Atletico Madrid 2 Fiorentina 1

Manager Simon Marsh commenced by stating "Apologies for missing some PMRs of late. Life just has not been easy in 2024 for me on a personal level and I have dropped off in recent weeks as I am drained. I dont want to go into too many details but I am similar issues to what Drum appears to be going through. I hope things have improved for him recently. Things here have come to an head but hopefully we can get through things. Its a case of taking life hour by hour but there is no break from it. Just relentless and draining".

Back to the football field and Atletico's inconsistent start to the season has certainly continued. This game was an attempt at back-to-back wins that could take the club back to the fringe of the top-8. Marsh spiced things up with the european formation which gave the home side tactical advantage although didnt appear to give them too much on-field domination as both sides had chances. The opening goal was always key and when Havertz got it, Atletico adjusted and took hold of the game adding a second. In true style they conceded a late goal to make things interesting but they held on for a big three points".

Marsh commented "A relief to get another win and climb to 09th in the table. We have given ourselves a handicap again but a couple more wins and the table would look pretty healthy. Top4 has to remain the target".

      Round 12 Monaco 0 - 2 Atletico Madrid

Havertz and Muano scored the goals that completed a victory over Monaco with an overall shot count of 6-12.

      Round 11 Atletico Madrid 0 - 2 Barcelona

Atletico got this one badly wrong tactically giving the away side far too much respect. Atletico lost the shot count 8-12 after a disjointed performance

      Round 10 Inter Milan 0 - 1 Atletico Madrid

The tenth league game of the season saw a big win for Atletico as they edged out Inter 0-1. A shot count of 8-12 just enough but the win was more impressive given they lost Upemacano to a red card after only 52 minutes. Olmo scored the winner and Frimpong was the player of the match.

        DPT CUP

The DPT group has become a stern test with Spurs Barnsley and Munich all performing so well in the league this season.

        Game 3 Bayern Munich 1 - 1 Atletico Madrid

This was a hugely importance game with the league sitting tight. Atletico got an early goal but were pegged back by the diminutive Gnonto.

        Game 4 Atletico Madrid 3 - 0 Bayern Munich

With this the last of Atleticos home games a win was needed. A shot count of 11-7 gave a flattering win on the night which was a refreshing change for a side that seems to make winning games so difficult the majority of times. Muani, Vinicius and a late goal from Buendia put Atletico into a strong position with 2 games to go.

        Atletico Madrid 8 +6
        Bayern Munch 5 -2
        Barnsley 4 -2
        Tottenham Hot 3 -2

Two more points from away trips to Barnsley and Spurs should be enough to see Atletico through to the quarter finals.

        Game 5 Barnsley 0 Aletico Madrid 1

A tight game was won by the solitary goal ensuring Atleticos safe passage into the quarter finals of the DPT. The club has yet to go beyond a quarter final under Marsh so lets see if they can march on further.
Game 6 will be an interesting one for the remaining 3 managers in the game. Atletico travel to Spurs with the decision as to whether they play full strength for the integrity of the tournement or give minutes to fringe players. Tanner 13-10-9 needs 45 mins, Bronico 14-12-10 needs 76 mins and it would be an ideal game to play both to commit their futures to the club for a further season. Pieters 18-13-8 is gaining weekly game time but a 90-min boost would see him close to being retained.

Big transfer news as Atletico shake things up..............

The first deal was struck with Barcelona. Dani Olmo who has played only a short time for the club was moved on with Kudus coming back in exchange along with £10m.

Marsh commented "Dani was decent for us but we have not quite been at the standard we had hoped this season and so we were looking to freshen things up. We had brief enquiries from three other clubs but no actual offer. FFO seems a place that managers dip their toes in but do not want to get wet. I would always advise managers that if they want to do business, at least throw in an initial offer......what is the worst that can happen? The deal with Barcelona was very quick once we had a chance to sit down and look at things. No more than a couple of echanges of communication and the deal was completed.

A further shock transfer was completed with Steve Talbots Chelsea. This one has seen plenty of mixed reviews on social media with many fans upset with the departure of Vinicius Junior but many others excited by the return of former stat St Maximin. Kudus crazily will play a maximum of three games before heading to Chelsea with Odegaard arriving.

Marsh commented "Steve sent us an offer in the morning which we couldnt look at until the evening. When I sat down looking at it with tired eyes it was a good offer. A lot of offers you can reject in seconds or digest and negotiate back after some thinking but this was one of those where one thought hmmm thats interesting. As much as it pains us to lose a top quality striker we do feel as a club that the passing part of the side is the bit missing and so we are looking at Odegaard to make a difference".

Marsh has come into some criticism for breaking league rules however, with Kudus bought and sold in the same window.

Marsh added "This was just human error. Tiredness caused this issue and we have been punished. We see that Vinicius will leave in exchange for St Maximinfor the next 3 games which is a defecit of 1-passing and 1-shooting skill and we dont get Odegaard until the week after now. We have hampered ourselves a little although one of the games is a dead rubber in the DPT. Hopefully it wont cost us dear in the two league games".

Atletico have moved up into 06th place in the table with one game remaining until the half way stage is met.

Marsjh commented "We are firmly in that 05th-10th placed pack now. Realistically we are not going to catch Real and Juve and PSG should improve. Our pre-season target of 4th place behind these three is still possible but we are going to have to improve somewhat"
