  • After 5 Rounds of Play

This season has and will be undoubtedly a daunting task, but Feyenoord are putting their best foot forward. Match-day 1 had Feyenoord visiting Giuseppe Meazza stadium to face Inter Milan, in what many expected to be a one sided affair, and they were right. However, the scoreline was not, the tub boys were able to keep the hosts at bay allowing only one goal past A_Muric.

Match-day 2 saw visitors Barcelona slap two unanswered goals past the tub boys keeper, one in the 41st and another in the 47th minutes of play, allowing Barça to walk away with 3 points.

The win-less streak continued into match-day 3 against hosts Monaco. The visitors unexpectedly got the go-ahead goal early in the 34th, but the lead was short-lived as Monaco went on a tear late in the match scoring 3 back to back goals in the 72nd— 85th and 86th minutes of the second half.

Things took a turn for the better on match-day 4 – well...somewhat --, as Feyenoord registered their first point of the season in a cautiously played scoreless match against visiting Fiorentina, a fitting finish for two former EFL2 clubs.

Feyenoord’s hard work and continued good luck resulted in a positive outcome at the Signal Iduna Park on match-day 5 as the visitors were able to take three points from Borussia. The match saw O_Idrissi return to his old ways scoring twice, the first in 2nd minute and then again in the 29th of the first half. Earning the striker the much deserved MoM, bringing the total to two for Feyenoord this season. Defender D_Hancko also received the elusive accolade last week against the viola.

A quick look at cup play saw Feyenoord bounce out in the first round of the ELF cup in extraordinary fashion, losing to Fenerbahce 4-2 at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. Lets hope that the tub-boys have better luck in the Darren Bradwell Cup (DBC) that gets underway this Wednesday at Gewiss Stadium against Atalanta.
