RB Salzburg- Round 4 Press Conference
Thacker: Well, that was quite a game. I think the entire club was still smarting from that Cup loss against Sparta Prague. That was a common theme during training this week. The players were very motivated. First, my hat is off to our defenders. You can see their performance is night and day compared to last season. Once again they led the way. Solet’s MoM award is well deserved. Koita was right on the money with the penalty shot. I’m still concerned about the lack of goals. We are making shots and making on target shots. We’re just going to have to press on.
Reporter 1: You seem very upset during the opening minutes of the game. Can you explain?
Thacker: Sparta came out with an offensive alignment that we did not expect. We scrambled to keep possession for that time. Then they stopped the long passes for just pure aggression. We were ready for that and we won the possession battle.
Reporter 2: This is your first win of the season. How are you feeling?
Thacker: Uncomfortable. The players want more, I want more. Uncomfortable is a good place to be for Salzburg right now.
Reporter 3: After 4 games, how would you rate Pasnik?
Thacker: He’s a solid player. He’s distributing the ball well, but his shots have not scoring goals. We need to find more ways to get him into the attack.
Reporter 4: Is the club looking to improve through transfers?
Thacker: We are always watching the wire. We haven’t seen a deal that makes sense for our finances.
Thank you for your time.
