A press conference at the Johan Cruyff arena saw former Barnsley manager Hayden Dando unveiled as the new boss of Ajax.
Reporter : Hayden, what is it that made you leave Barnsley for Ajax?
HD : I was planning to call it a day at the end of the season at Oakwell, I enjoyed it there but felt I was never destined to stay there.
Reporter : Do you feel you did a decent job at Barnsley?
HD: at the start of the season I just wanted to stay up which we did, don’t get me wrong we never quite managed to replicate our early season form in the back end of the season but we also appeared in an FA Cup semi final as well as bringing the likes of Mo Salah to Barnsley so overall yes we achieved what we set out to do.

Ajax poses a different challenge as you the club finished towards the bottom of the second tier, what do you think of the Challenge?
HD : Ajax is one of those clubs everyone expects to be in the top flight due to its history, whilst I’m not going to pretend it’s going to be an easy ride, we have some really exciting young players who are developing well in the Ajax way so the future will be bright.
