In an interview this past week on Live and Direct with Geremy Germs on the ESMS+ sports network one of the questions manager Buck was asked was, what his thoughts were regarding a possible 2nd place finish in the EFL2. The gaffers response was “winning is pinnacle for any sports franchise, it's all we've planned and worked for these past 4 months, however, as rewarding as it may seem the reality of playing top flight football in EFL1 might be a tad daunting. The last thing I'd want for this amazing group of guys is a season in the top league as cellar dwellers. Mind you as intimidating as it might seem, the experience of playing against the best clubs in Europe is irreplaceable; and that includes myself, to manage with some of the greats in the game will be awe inspiring and humbling. That being said, if we really do finish in the top 2, I will have to seriously ponder the question, am I the the right man for the job. A decision that will no doubt involve the clubs brass and myself sometime in the off-season. In finishing, it’s all fine and dandy to presume what might happen, but back current reality, one thing I am certain without a reasonable doubt is focusing all my attention on the next two weeks, everything else is secondary.”.
