Fiorentina fans were relieved to hear manager Kirby would not be released.
However, they assumed the news meant their manager wouldn't be released for the Barcelona job, amid rumours he was being sought out by the Catalan giants. But no, he had been arrested for drunk and disorderly behaviour and locked up for the night in jail!

''It's flattering of course, but no, my future is here in Fiorentina, my job has only just begun here, and I believe there is much more to achieve. There are very few opportunities I would leave here for....''
What do you think of the applicants so far? ''It's not my place to comment, both have their merits, I'm sure the Barcelona board will make the right decision''
