Ipswich Town manager Ash Barkworth has criticised his sides indifferent form after the Tractor Boys got back to winning ways at home to Birmingham City, the clubs first win in 8 games.

The game at Portman Road was a game that Ipswich dominated in large spells but struggled to find a way past an inspired Griffths in the City goal who kept out big chances from George Hirst and fellow strike partner Kevin Nesbitt. The winner came in the 55th minute as Omari Hutchninson took advantage of space in the Birmingham box to place into the corner beyond the despairing reach of Griffiths.

The result sees Ipswich remain in 11th place in the Championship and despite the lack of consistency in recent months the club finds themselves only 4 points away from the play-offs, something which surprises the media-shy Barkworth:

"I'll be honest, we've not been great for a while now. Our form has been awful to say the least and we just don't seem to have the ability to remain consistent which worries me, a lot. Today's result is an important one even if we made it hard work for ourselves... We create a lot of chances most games but we don't seem to have to have the composure or ability to take them which is a a worry. We are also a little bit too open at the back which is a pressing concern. We must do so much better between now and the end of the season, or 1 or 2 of them could find themselves on the chopping block."

Next up for Ipswich is a trip South Wales and a visit to the Cardiff City Stadium as they face Cardiff City on Monday Evening. Cardiff currently sit in 5th place on 36 points after back to back wins saw them remain in close quarters to the top 4, with Watford leading the way on 40 points.
