  • Arsenal Manager Unhappy With Season End

    " We Need To Improve " - Says Arsenal Manager

    Arsenal will look back at last season with mixed emotions, finishing in a lower league position than the previous season but feeling very unlucky not to have made the final of the Champions League, the message to the players and supporters looks set to be clear one, the club need to improve and pose more of a challenge to the cluster of sides that they find themselves among.

    Too many times last season, the Arsenal Manager spoke after the game having dropped points against sides that they really should be beating and yet again, a poor start to the season putting them on the back foot early into the season seeing them play catch up with ten games gone, something that the Manager has spoken about trying to rectify in the up coming season.

    The Arsenal boss spoke to the media this morning and briefly reflected on what was a below par season by the clubs standard ;

    " Looking back, when you see how the league finally ended, we have to be disappointed that we didn't perform better with the squad we had. For the second or third season on the spin, we started badly in the first ten or so games and were on the back foot from the off, my fault, stuck in pre season mode still and not fully focused on the job in hand but we are looking to address that when the new season starts. Even so, we cannot keep sitting there crying over spilt milk, we dropped points in games that if we are honest, we shouldn't be dropping and as a result, our league position wasn't where we think we should be however, still making this seasons League is a big bonus.

    Our Champions League campaign was a success looking back at it and we have to be happy and proud of how we finished it. We have to be happy that we held a ' power house ' of side in PSG over two legs in the semi final after leading for so long only to lose on penalties, the lottery of the game so on that side, we are delighted of how we conducted ourselves but even so, still a season with no silverware and for club like Arsenal, its under achieving and we need to get that side of things in order.

    The pre season period looks set to be one of the busiest ones for us in regards to transfers as we look to make some changes to the squad and push the side on so we have been busy behind the scenes securing some very good players for the squad ".
