I’m burning it down. After 21 rounds, a paltry 8 points, and a -30 goal differential it’s clear that the squad remaining from last year’s Champ P2 is not enough to nudge the Blades to the playoff to stay up. It’s just not going to happen and it’s time for plan C. Plan B was trying to muddle and see if I could keep the club up. So…..
Plan C. I’ll be doing the thing that I hate about professional sports, tearing apart a team and selling the pieces. When I was young and idealistic I thought that was terrible, now I think it’s inevitable. Sometimes you just have to start over and this God Forsaken club needs a reboot. This first moves are going to be drastic cut in payroll. I’ve found a deal for Gosens, and I’m looking for homes for Guilbert and Veratti. I’m getting squaddies in change of these players, the lineup is going to go from miserable to horrible. That’s going to give me cash to start building up during the EOS. Right now this I think there will be scouts and coaches set up, and possible a stadium expansion. I’m trying to get minutes to hang on to everyone else, so I’ll have to bargaining chips next season. I’m not sure if I’m bringing anybody up other than keeper. Gulacsi will be rated 24 after re-rates, and it’s time got bring on the new kid. He’ll get some guaranteed Kabs the next season and that will turn him into a good but not excellent keeper. No decisions been made on the other three that could be brought up.
So it will be ugly, and hope the FFO understands the method in my madness. I don’t see any other way. Until next time, and sell me squaddie.
