Preamier League round 1: Aston Villa 3 - 2 Burnley

We're still in the process of rebuilding our squad. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to sign any new players in the auction, and our number 4 defender, Hummels, is still on his way from Blackburn. Missing two regular players in defense and midfield made facing Villa at their stadium even tougher.

The match didn't start well for us. Kubo scored an early goal in the 3rd minute, putting Villa ahead 1-0. Just 11 minutes later, Todibo added another goal, and Villa parked the bus in front of their goal. Our fans thought it was game over. However, just seconds after the second goal, Ndidi was sent off, giving us a numerical advantage for more than 80 minutes. We managed to equalize in the 55th minute with goals from Pedri and Boadu.

Unfortunately, we weren't productive enough and missed a couple of chances, while Villa managed to score the winner. Despite having some strong moments, overall, we failed to capitalize on our opportunities and made too many mistakes that cost us the game.

Next up is Arsenal, another tough match, but hopefully, we'll put in a better performance.

    Premier League round 2: Burnley 1 - 3 Arsenal

An important match against Arsenal. We didn't start badly and countered them from the beginning. Unfortunately, in the 23rd minute, Balde (a former Arsenal player) scored an own goal after an unlucky touch. Just a minute later, Rashford added another goal, and things went downhill for us. Before the 60th minute, Balde scored another goal for Arsenal, and it was game over for us. Our veteran, Hamsik, scored a consolation goal in the 73rd minute, but that was all we could manage. Statistically, it was quite an even match, with both sides having 12 shots on target. It was another lesson in efficiency for us.

Hummels joins our squad this weekend. Finally, we will have our starting defense line complete, and hopefully, better results will come soon.

    Premier League round 4: Burnley 3 - 2 Liverpool

A massive victory against one of best Prem sides and last season´s runner up. After 0 points from the three first matches we really needed this. We decided to change our line-up and tactics and went for 5-3-2 P / C with our academy DF Panucci in the starting line-up.

We managed to score two early goals by Boadu and Hummels with Liverpool´s Halifa making it a bit more dramatic just before the half-time. However, just 3 minutes after the start of the second half Bodau added another one giving us 3-1 lead. In minute 63 Liverpool threw everything into attack and scored to 3-2 in minute 65. Luckily, we continued to be the better side and managed to control the match.

Very happy with the result as well as the play. Hopefully we will be able to maintain our form for the upcoming games.

    Premier League round 6: Burnley 3 - 0 Barnsley

We didn´t expect an easy match as Barnsley in fact do have a solid squad. However, they keep rotating their top players with the youth prospects and decided to let 3 key players rest on the bench. That made it a bit easier for us and we managed to score three goals and hold a clean sheet. Ekitike finaly found a glimse of form and scored a goal after 6 matches without any luck. Pogba and Boadu added each one more goals. Boadu is top scorer now, good to see our investment into refreshing our squad starts paying off.

After three losses from the three openning matches we managed to get on the track, sitting 8th in the table with 9 points. World looking a bit brighter now.

Premier League round 7: Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Burnley

A bit of boring match with a limited number of chances on both sides. We dominated in the midfield with 64 % of possession. However, we were not able to produce more than 5 shots on target. Ekitike opened the scoreline for us early on, but Dike equalised in the second half. Overall, a point away from Selhurst Park is not a bad result. Still in top8 with a very difficult trip to Manchester United next.

    DBC Round 2: Burnley 1 - 1 Marseille

Marseille are a top side and one of the favourites for the DBC winners, currently sitting 8 in the EFL table. We didn´t expect an easy match and clearly we were right. The game didn´t start well for us as Marseille opened the scoreline four minutes after the starting whistle. We were pushing for an equalizer and managed to get it by the half time. During the second half we were the more dangerous side dominating the possession and creating a number of chances. However, we were not able to convert the chances into shots on target and the scoreline didn´t chance during the second half.
