Good Morning, We have had a few new faces and the clubhouse in the last couple of weeks, and it’s good to see them settling in to our routine. We’ve paired up the new players with our veterans to get them acclimated to our training routine. I’m excited for the next season and I will now take a few questions.
Reporter1: In our last press conference you have said transfers were unlikely, yet several players have come and gone. Can you discuss the McGregor release?
Thacker: I’ve been grateful for McGregor’s leadership and and play for the last two seasons, but as we looked forward to the next three seasons, it was unlikely that he was going to be a starter, and he wanted to stay a starter. It was a mutual decision. We’ve brought in Dorsch to play in that DM role, and we think he will fit in nicely.
Reporter2: What will Johnson bring to the mix?
Thacker: We need a solid backup with punch a little harder in the defense, Johnson fit the build. He’s a little stronger than out past backups.
Reporter3: Looking ahead, do you think Salzburg will finally promote a player to the main squad next season.
Thacker: (Laughing) Yes, we’ll have two new players coming in next season and we’ve only had room for one, so SOMEBODY is going to get promoted. I’m not going to speculate on who, but if we can promote a player and make the squad better, we will bring them up. I think next season will be the first payoff on the academy investment, and it will be a big one.
Reporter4: Goals for the Season?
Thacker: Same as last year. Increase our position in the table by two places, a decent cup run, and beat Leipzig!
