MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE CONFIRMED 5 PLAYERS HAVE ATTENDED AN EXTRA PRE SEASON TRAINING CAMP AND THE CLUB FEEL THEIR PLAYERS HAVE TAKEN A BIG BENEFIT FROM THE COURSE. IT ISN'T SOMETHING COMMMON ESPECIALLY WITH THE START OF THE SEASON DRAWING IN, BUT THE CLUB DECIDED TO UTILITSE THE OPPORTUNITY PRESENTED TO THEM AND FEEL VERY POSITIVE WITH THE WORK AHEAD OF THE NEW SEASON.
5 players attended the training camp in Dubai and all showed positivity and improvements in their game. Defender Matthijs de Ligt, young midfield duo Gavi and Yaser Asprilla joined talismanic striker Karim Adeyemi and new boy Ricardo Calafiori attended a 4 day camp, and felt it has been a worthwhile trip with and something the club should look at in future, and maybe even stretch it as far as the entire squad.
The club did admit it was a gamble and chose wisely allowing which players to go. The 5 players admitted they improved in not only attributes but togetherness whilst there. Outten added:
"We got daily reports and feedback and I can only say it was a great move in the end. 5 players who are part of the spine of the club really benefited from the warm weather and tighter-nit group work they took part in. It was great to see and all the lads at the club are wanting to see future events happen.
"We took a risk in taking part in the training camp, but that risk paid off. They're boosted and raring to go for the new season. In spite of recent events we have something positive to look talk about again and I'm looking forward to starting the season."
IMPROVEMENTS MADE
Matthijs De Ligt worked on his ball playing and passing to make sure he fits the fluid football dynamic further.
Ricardo Calafiori spent hours on defensive shape and positioning.
Yasser Asprilla honed in his passing and moving which benefitted his final shooting more ironically.
Gavi stayed true to his strengths and even more complete in his midfield role.
Finally, Karim Adeyemi kept his shooting in focus. Improvements might not be noticed straight away but will benefit long term.
