Frankfurt, soon to be renamed Wolfsburg, are promoting the first two academy graduates out of the esteemed academy.
Tonetto and Eguren will be the first in what Hopton is hoping to be a long line of players that become first team players, "We have spent money building out our academy and trying to turn it into one of the most exciting youth systems within FFO. Tonetto will be taking the place of Max who will be leaving Wolfsburg at the end of this season, this is a like for like swap and already shows the fruits of our labour.
Elsewhere within the academy we have Ronaldo, one of the most exciting youth players in the game at the moment and Seedorf, a player who is already set to be a superstar attacking midfielder."
There is a lot of excitement around the academies with fellow managers Gary Wingebank at Millwall and Ray Wallace at Wolves making the most of this recently launched product.
Wolves have a couple star players within their academy.
Maldini, a young defender with an eye for a pass and Vieira, a defensive midfielder with buckets of potential.
Millwall have the most exciting talent of all, Guardado, the young 17 year old would already walk into most 2nd tier first teams and by the time he turns 20 and is available for promotion will likely be a world beater. The rest of the Millwall academy is pretty bang average but it goes to show that if you invest time and money into your youth players, you can unearth a gem.
Back to Wolfsburg, we will certainly be hiring a second scout and coach this off season in order to boost the potential of all our players. There are certainly big hopes for the two players previously mentioned, but even those that don't become first team regulars can still provide a useful source of cash to help fund any future developments.
This is exciting times for some of the smaller clubs in FFO, but we are about to see the shape of the game change, with Wolfsburg eyeing up promotion in the next couple of seasons, built on the success of the academy.
