Cardiff plundered a victory at West Ham, who themselves have been slipping into the danger zone. West Ham thought Isco’s second half strike had given them some breathing space. 2 goals, from Harris and Bah, in the last 10 minutes saw the Bluebirds come away with all 3 points

Villa and Everton put on a 6 goal thriller at Villa Road. Martinez put the home side ahead, then a Depay brace gave Everton the lead. Aston Villa got a fantastic result away at Arsenal, beating them 2-1 courtesy of star striker’s Gabriel Jesus’s brace, a goal in each half. The Gunners dominated but Villa defended well and Jesus has now netted 17 for the season. Reece James had equalised for Arsenal to make it 1-1 at half time but Jesus hit the winner and Villa held on

    MOM: Gabriel Jesus (Aston Villa)

    MOM : Le Normand(Southampton)

Blackburn Rovers have shown some form of late and this time the champions were visiting. Jack Grealish sent the home fans wild when he scored for Rovers, but Marquinhos and Vlahovic put City in front until on the stroke of half time Grealish put Cresswell in for the home team's equaliser. Son performed the heroics in the second half, scoring on 75 to take all 3 points and put a stick in the wheels of the City juggernaut.

    MOM: Jack Grealish (Blackburn)

Everton have been on fire lately and hosted Palace at Goodison - Marcao put them in front in the first half but Eze equalised with just 6 minutes left to share the points. Everton have now only lost one in 6 and climbed above Barnsley with another point, which takes them one behind Palace in 14th.

    MOM: Marcao (Everton)

Leeds came out looking like they had been given a rocket by boss Tim Davey and Spinazzola opened the scoring in the first half, followed by Berardi in the second half who made it 2-0. Caicedo and Cuadrado’s goals were sandwiched by Zapata’s Cardiff consolation, but Leeds were strong and good value for the win and narrow the gap to 2 points at the top.

    MOM: Spinazzola (Leeds)

Liverpool came from behind to win after De Tomas had put Newcastle ahead at Anfield. Mahrez was sent off for the Reds before de Jong, and man of the match Halifa scored to take all 3 points and get Anfield rocking. Liverpool slither on up to 3rd with 3 wins on the trot, and now look like real title contenders. Newcastle drop to 11th with just one win in the last 6 and the manager’s position is surely in doubt.

    MOM: Halifa (Liverpool)

Battle of the big boys at Old Trafford as Man U took on Chelsea. This was an entertaining goalless draw as the two sides cancelled each other out, with new signing Trevor Chalobah man of the match in the Chelsea defence

    MOM : Chalobah (Chelsea)

Another point for Sheffield Wednesday at home to Leicester as they drew 1-1. Dunk equalised for the Foxes after Hogan had put the Owls ahead, Wednesday were the better side and deserved more, but Areola again looked strong in goal and the Leicester defence held firm. Wednesday remain 7 points off at the bottom of the table, but have only lost 2 in 6 which is the form that will get them closer to West Ham, Watford and Burnley who at the moment are battling to avoid the other 2 relegation spots.

    MOM: Danilo (Sheff Weds)

In the epitome of a ‘6 pointer’ at the bottom, Watford hosted Burnley and the away side came away with the points, their class showing through as Coufal and Guedes gave them a 2-0 victory. 1 point separates them from Watford and West Ham and they will be looking to climb the table from here.

    MOM : Guedes (Burnley)

West Ham v Spurs was a dire London derby, both slides set up not to lose, after a series of disappointing results for both. For West Ham the draw ended a run of 4 straight defeats but still leaves them in the mire and Spurs cling on to 5th despite being very Spursy of late.

    MOM: Toloi ( West Ham)

Sa (Southampton),Todibo (Villa),Cucurella (Burnley), Spinazzola (Leeds), Chalobah (Chelsea), Fernandez (Southampton), Sane(Blackburn),Chuckwueze (Leeds), Halifa (Liverpool), Guedes (Burnley), Jesus (Villa)

POTW: Blackburn’s home win v Man City was a cracking result for Tony Ayre’s men

SOTW: West Ham v Tottenham was a yawn fest, with Spurs not even registering a shot on goal

15 games left and Man United sit on top, with Leeds, Liverpool and Man City chasing hard.2 points separate Tottenham in 5th and Arsenal in 9th which is clearly the main interest, and at the foot Sheffield Wednesday are trying to scrape up points after a shocking start, with West Ham, Watford and Burnley all struggling and Everton rising. A lot of football still to play, and the contest is wide open at both ends.
