  • Liverpool post match reactions

Lazy media from Merseyside with the following post match reactions provided by our manager Graeme Edwards on league and cup games so far this season -

    Premier League week one -

    Liverpool 0 Blackburn 1

A travesty of a result in all honesty, with 10 shots on target to 2 in our favour I think we can safely say Tony's mob were extremely fortunate to avoid a defeat let alone steal the 3 points. It's not a massive surprise to be honest, historically it's generally been the same that the wannabe Aussie spawns his way to a win against me and then walks about with his cock out here, there and everywhere acting like he's the reincarnation of Pep Guardiola when we all know he's just a jammy cunt.

Not the start we wanted and in all honesty if this is the kind of shitty luck we have ahead of us then it's going to be another forgettable season for Kopites everywhere.

Got to get a win against a dangerous Brighton side in the cup on Wednesday or this could be the shortest managerial reign in FFO history.

    FA Cup Round One -

    Liverpool 1 Brighton 0

Tough fixture as we knew it would be given the amount of 20/21 raters in the Brighton side. Added to that they had tactical bonus throughout and it's no surprise we found it difficult with only a 2nd half Rashford penalty separating the sides.

Always all about getting through in the cup and despite our struggles I think we did just about enough to merit it.

We're still trying to find our identity as a team and I know it's going to take time to do that

    Unlucky Brighton.

    Premier League week two -

    Aston Villa 1 Liverpool 2

Pleased to get our first league win especially at such a difficult venue. We mixed things up tactically and formation wise and came flying out of the traps to build a quick 2-0 lead through Mahrez and Rashford. We then changed to a passing style and Villa scored early in the 2nd half to get themselves right back into the game. It made for a nervy read late on but I think we were worth the win.

Huge blow to lose one of our starting defenders to a 3 game injury but we have a bit of depth so it gives a chance for someone else to step up.

    Played Drum

    Premier League week three -

    Liverpool 0 Crystal Palace 1

Saw the counter attacking approach from Palace coming a mile away and tried to set up to benefit against it but this is FFO of course so expect the unexpected.

In truth we didn't perform well. That said it's absolutely staggering (to me anyway) that despite all the 'bonuses' we didn't have a single effort at goal for pretty much the first 70 mins. Clearly the buck stops with me but I think it says a lot about the game in general these days. Absolute waste of time putting in the research and trying to win tactical battles etc. Just play C.

All the best to Lee at Palace though. A good, solid manager that has done well for a long period of time.

    FA Cup Round Two -

    Liverpool 3 Spurs 2

Sheeted for this but then been away on holiday.

Entertaining game in which we trailed 1-0 and 2-1 before a switch to attacking later on saw us turn things around against a Spurs side that have started the season better than us. Young Halifa scoring the winner before then getting sent off but I think we just about deserved the win.

Arsenal in the next round which will be super tough, especially given how poor our form is.

Premier League week four, DPT matchday one and Premier League week five -

Team manager Graeme Edwards was away on holiday with a caretaker in charge so no post match reactions were given

    Premier League week six -

    Chelsea 2 Liverpool 0

Back from a week away (cheers to Gaz for sheeting) but we picked up where I left off with another limp display. It looked for a long time like it was going to finish goalless but 2 goals in the last 3 minutes gave Chelsea the win and looking at the stats we can't have any complaints.

It's been a poor start and safe to say we're still searching for the right formula.

    Premier League week seven -

    Liverpool 1 Barnsley 0

It wasn't pretty by any stretch of the imagination nor was it convincing but we managed to grind out a result which was the absolute priority given we went into the game in the bottom three.

Barnsley were without their best striker so I thought they would struggle to score and they set up with a tough to break down 541C set up and made life very difficult for us. Stats were pretty even but for once we just managed to get over the line.

    DPT matchday two -

    Liverpool 1 Monaco 1

Two home games, both of which we've dominated, but we only have two 1-1 draws to show for it and at this stage we are up against it.

The passing style which I want us to play just isn't working in either the league or cup. We tend to outplay teams but don't get the results our play deserves. Disappointing and frustrating in equal measure.

    Premier League week eight -

    Liverpool 1 Man Utd 1

I've always found Steve a tough opponent and one of the very best managers out there so I was looking forward to going up against him once again.

We persisted with the passing approach and it was another good performance by us but once again we come away without the 3 points after Onana conceded a 2nd half penalty. Several times now we have been worthy of the win but failed to achieve it. No point in moaning about it we have to soldier on and hope that we can start turning these dominant performances into 3 points.

A short trip across Stanley Park for us next to face the blue side of the city. Everton have improved after a sticky start so it's going to be another challenging fixture for us.

    Premier League week nine -

    Everton 0 Liverpool 3

At last we send our supporters home happy after a game. Switched things up from the failing passing approach and set out to attack from the off with Mahrez supporting the 3 front men and we were quickly rewarded with an opener from Andy Robertson.

It felt like we were in control of the game but 1-0 is never comfortable so there was certainly relief when Guirassy got the 2nd in the 73rd minute and the same player added a 3rd in injury time to put the icing on the cake. With 11 shots on target to 2 I don't think there's any doubt we got what we deserved in terms of the 3 points.

We have to try and build on this and get some momentum going - which is easier said than done when our next 3 fixtures are a double header against Arsenal and then a trip to Man City.

Anyway this was a small step in the right direction and a derby win is always pleasing
