    Round 19

    Villarreal 2-0 Schalke
    M_Gabbia (62), D_Suarez (79)

In my first game in charge, the team got off to a very good start. We decided to play an attacking style to take advantage of the home bonus, and fortunately, it paid off. Although we didn't control possession in the game, that was never our intention. However, we did manage to have more shots and shots on target than the opposition, which is why I'm very happy with the team's performance.

Matteo Gabbia, our current captain, and Denis Suarez scored a goal each, and we wrapped up the game 11 minutes before the end. We now have three points in the bag and are continuing to focus on climbing up the league table.

    Round 20

    Ajax 1-2 Villarreal
    O_Lingr (43) - Pedraza (27), O_Burke (49)

We've had a great start to our league campaign with back-to-back wins, making it three wins in our last four league games. Pedraza opened the scoring and Lingr equalised for the opposition just before half time. However, Oliver Burke cancelled out the home side's goal shortly after the second half.

The match statistics suggest that a draw would have been a fair result, but we are happy with the win nonetheless and will continue to push forward.

      Round 22

      Villarreal 2-1 PSV
      L_Alario (45), A_Baena (92) - P_Van_Aanholt (14)

Delighted to have won this game and it was a bit closer than the match statistics probably suggest. We decided to play with the E style expecting PSV to play on the counter but they threw a spanner into the works and their attacking play put them into the lead through Patrick Van Aanholt.

Lucas Alario scored his first goal for the club just before half time and the game was wrapped up with the second to last attempt at goal through Alex Baena. We move up to 12th in the league table and only 6 points from the playoff positions, there's a belief in the team that we can compete towards those places. Onto the next one. Gg Nathan

        Round 23

        Red Bull Salzburg 0-2 Villarreal
        K_Bielik (19,34)

My team displayed a dominant performance and deservedly earned three points. Although the match statistics suggest that we could have scored more than two goals, credit should be given to Atubolu, the Salzburg goalkeeper, who made 13 saves during the game.

Krystian Bielik was the star of the match, scoring two goals from central midfield and receiving the man of the match award. We have now reduced the gap to the playoff places to four points, thanks to our outstanding form in the last six games - four wins, one draw, and one loss. The players displayed a complete performance today.

          Round 24

          Villarreal 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
          Joselu (3)

Huge result in our push towards the playoff places and we could have easily scored more but another great performance by the opposition goalkeeper.

We are now one point behind Frankfurt in 6th and it's been a great turnaround as we are the best in-form team in the league over the last six games.

            Round 25

            Sevilla 1-1 Villarreal
            A_Weimann (73) - J_Galan (53)

It was a huge test for us to play against top of the league Sevilla away from home, but I'm satisfied that we have come to the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan and secured a point. We did have the tactical advantage for the majority of the game, but the home bonus allowed Sevilla to remain competitive and a draw was probably the fairest result going by the match statistics. Good game.

              Round 26

              Villarreal 3-3 Sparta Prague
              O_Burke (30), L_Alario (33), Joselu (43) - A_Sorensen (45), J_Galan (64 og), J_Kuchta (91)

We have decided to change our name to Club Futbol Bottle Jobs. In this fixture, we were leading by three goals to nil by the forty-third minute. However, due to a poor defensive display, we lost all three points. Although the match statistics suggest that we deserved to win, we cannot justify losing a three-goal lead in ninety minutes.

We extend our congratulations to Sparta Prague for their amazing comeback. The one point they earned has hit us hard in our pursuit of the playoff places. We will continue to focus on our next game and strive to do better.
