    Premiership Round 1:

    Sheffield Wednesday 0

    Booked: E_Dier (36), A_Webster (70)

    Wolves 0

    Booked: M_Caqueret (21), J_Moder (53)

    MotM: A_Ramsdale (Wolves)
    HT: 0-0

It really says it all about a game when the MotM award goes to a keeper. Fair play to Aaron Ramsdale though he deserved the accolade after saving nine shots on goal to also claim a clean sheet. Not a huge amount between the two sides as Wolves edged possession, whereas Sheffield Wednesday carved out the better chances. A point away from home for the first game of the season isn't too bad so we take it and move on to the FA Cup game against League One side Charlton Athletic.

    Played Mike, good game.

    FA Cup Round 1:

    Charlton Athletic 1

    M_Leaburn (66)

    Booked: C_Aneke (52), T_Taylor (63)

    Wolves 6
    A_Mowatt (12), C_Gakpo (32,83), M_Terrier (35), J_Moder (64) & Y_Tielemans (77)

    Booked: Emerson_Royal (90)

    MotM: Y_Tielemans (Wolves)
    HT: 0-3

Stats wise there was not a lot between the two sides, but in reality on the pitch the gulf in class clearly showed. Wolves were always on top and will be disappointed in conceding to the home side and not keeping a clean sheet. Frustrating that Emerson Royal picked up a late yellow for a naïve challenge. Onward into the next round and interested to see who Wolves draw.

Back to the league for the next game as Wolves play host to Sheffield United.

      Premiership Round 2:

      Wolves 0

      Sheffield United 1
      M_Asensio (83 pen)

      MotM: P_Gulacsi (Sheffield United)
      HT: 0-0

Not much to say about this game but I feel we were robbed! Wolves had by far the better of the game throughout, but just couldn't make the superiority count. This was a game we needed to get something from if we hope to stay up. Late dodgy penalty (in our view) dispatched by former transfer target Asensio decided the match.

      Played Kels.

Next game sees us travel to Manchester to face the mighty City. We've had decent games against them in the past but can we keep that going this time round?

        Wolves 1

On possession and shots on target, City battered us. But thankfully we had tactical advantage throughout the first half and eventually we were fortunate enough to get a late penalty that Gabriel Veron popped away for his first goal of the season. The second half saw Wolves adopt a more defensive approach which didn't stop the home side from equalising within minutes of the restart. Wolves kept it tight and were eventually rewarded with a point away from home against title contenders. Only downside was the unnecessary second yellow card picked up in the last minute of the game by Alex Mowatt that sees him miss our next game.

        Well played Nick.

Our next games sees us back in the FA Cup with a trip up to Tyneside to face fellow Prem side Newcastle United.
