MANCHESTER UNITED HAVE ANNOUNCED THE FUTURE OF CURRENT MANAGER STEVE OUTTEN WILL BE CONFIRMED AFTER THE SEASON ENDS, AND NO ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE MADE IN THE FINAL WEEK. THERE HAVE BEEN STRONG REPORTS THE MANCUNIAN IS SET TO QUIT HIS BOYHOOD CLUB AFTER 8 YEARS IN THE HOT SEAT.
A number of professional and personal factors have been cited as to why now could be the time the manager steps a side, but nothing has been released in public meaning it's still a case of balls up in the air. Only a few weeks ago it was reported Bayern Munich manager submitted a Jose Mourinho-esque dossier and plan to the board of Manchester United outlining what his plans and vision would be should he return to the club he once managed.
It was reported at that time, and spoken of quite publicly that Outtens future had been decided for him on the back of Bank's proposition. However, nothing has been confirmed and United have confirmed the manager will decide what to do after the season with club second on goal difference to City and also in the FA Cup final against the same side. The club have stated they want the manager to take his time and do what is right for him and not knee jerk any decision.
"The club would like to publicly go on record and say that right now we have no news on any situation regarding our manager Steve Outten. We spoke with him a few weeks ago and had a very strong and open dialogue to which, yes, it is a possibility that we might be looking for a new manager for next season. We understand and accept his reasonings for getting to this situation but us as a club are very happy with the work he has done over the years and we are happy for it to continue for the foreseeable.
"Of course, a decision like this will have major impacts on everyone involved and any decision taken will be respected by both parties. It is true, we did receive a report from another club, with their vision and plan outlined but no, that was not looked at and indicative of anything. It was not viewed and accepted as a proposition to force the current manager out despite the media out put. We want Steve to take his time, weigh up his options and do what is best for him. We have never ushered or pushed a decision which could force him out. That it completely not true.
"We have 1 more week of the season, 2 league games, and a cup final and it is a huge week for the club. We want all focus and energy on ending the season in a positive manner, and after that a decision will be made."
There has been rumours Outten has enjoyed his time in Ukraine with Shakhtar Donetsk, taking one of the worst teams in the division, and maybe FFO as a whole to midtable, a similar feat to what he achieved with Sampdoria only a few years ago. Ofcourse, it's a different level of management and a different set of goals for the club, but one which Outten has said to have relished and apparently, given a fresh spark and output. Shakhtar have always maintained it is a manager for one season, and one season only, swiftly pushing aside any talk of a permanent move for Outten.
