  • The Torres Derby

    A clash of two Italian giants takes place tonight, Juventus and Roma. Both sit comfortably in the UCL places but have aspirations of winning the league.

    Juventus have had a patchy start in other competitions, dropping out of the cup against the Romans in just the second round and risk an early exit in the UCL. The only reason which the Bianconeri faithful aren't calling for the head of the gaffer is due to the high league position, some might say this position is the bare minimum.

    Roma face the opposite circumstances, patchy in the league but blistering in other competitions. Roma are expected to make at least the semi finals of the EFL cup based on some favourable draws in the cup and find themselves at the top of a tough group in the UCL, the fans however have showed their discontent at being 7 points adrift of the top.

    Manager Hamza has been cited to be pushing his players more than usual in training, sources say that he has a picture of Juve on a dart board and is taking aim not with darts but with a gun.. something which has drawn fear in the players, but not many understand the reason why.

    Hamza briefed his players about the significance of this match, not only potentially reach third place (which he says is the absolute bare minimum for the season) but to get one over Andy Banks, who he believes had robbed him of a prized asset when he took over at Werder Bremen some 8-9 seasons ago when he was just a freshed face manager trying to make his mark in the second tier, although both find themselves managing at the top of world football now.

    Roma are expected to switch it up for this game, maybe take a leaf out of their legendary manager Derek Hughes' book and go all guns blazing, tonight will tell if Roma do have the cojones to actually challenge for the title.

    Juventus manager Andy Banks had the following to say regarding the ‘Torres Derby’ as he and his squad prepared for the visit of AS Roma;

    ”The Torres what?! Oh yes, Ferran Torres…The player we sold after a few months and Mr Siddiqui hasn’t forgotten about since.

    This transfer saga he’s still crying about happened over 4 years ago. It was clear at the time that his Werder Bremen team were in the wrong for trying to back out of a deal in order to secure a better deal and it’s just as clear now.

    Since that day we’ve gone on to batter Siddiqui’s teams up until this season where they robbed us in the cup but I’m sure usual service will be resumed this evening.

    As for Torres, last I heard he was in Milan but I’m sure no one cares.”
