  • Roma to switch off the fading lights of Madrid?

With Real Madrid's embarrassing defeat to Lazio, rumours of Talbot's exist have gained traction as fans gathered outside The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium to protest.

Commentators have started to use the language of the Big 2 in EFL - referring to the title battle between the heavyweights of PSG and AS Roma. In case you missed it - Madrid used to be part of the Big 3.

When Steve Talbot left Lisbon to join Madrid they were riding high with no rivals. They were the Big One. They were so far ahead everyone else was battling for 2nd. Repeated transfer blunders have seen Madrid deteriorate. But The Ruthless One has deny any failings blaming everyone else for their demise.

Jason Hopton has emerged as the favourite to take over Real Madrid when Talbot does the right thing and resigns. Hopton currently leads EFL having transformed AC Milan from midtable strugglers into title challengers with 12 games. Simon Clark has deep respect for Hopton's skills and is said to be supporting Talbot. In a desperate attempt to save the Madrid manager and make success easier for PSG.

Sources close to Steve Talbot has said he has lost touch with reality and is unlikely to resign anytime soon.

Roma boss Hughes was available for a brief off-the-record comment. He said it was irrelevant what happens as both Talbot and Hopton were crap managers.

Roma travel to Madrid to face Talbot. And have an opportunity to put the Madrid boss under further pressure if they win.

Over the recent weeks we have seen Marshy accuse AC Milan of running on pure luck, and now Roma manager Derek Hughes has called out the Real Madrid and Milan managers, calling them “crap”.

Not one to shy away from the press unlike PSG and Madrid, who both seem to believe the world is against them, Hopton decided to hit back at the Roma boss.

Hopton: “When I was at Leverkusen, myself and Derek had a good amount of communication and I would even go so far to call him a friend and whilst this outburst by Derek would usually offend me, I have actually taken it as a compliment.

This unusual season has seen us emerge as early title leaders, whilst not expected to go the distance it has clearly rattled fellow managers with Ed saying I am “an untouchable genius” and Derek now calling me “crap”.

Derek though is clearly trying to shift the spotlight away from his lack of trophies in recent seasons, the so called “transfer king” has hit a rather hard ceiling. He can no longer improve his team and now has to really on tactics to succeed, but unfortunately Derek clearly didn’t go to tactics school, just assuming he can attack everyone.

I imagine both Steve and Ed will continue their media “silence” and only speak to the FFO equivalent of GB news. But I refuse to let Derek speak his mind and not have any backlash. When did you last win a trophy?

One point we do agree on, Madrid are a spent force.”
