HARRIS has had a turbulent time in the past 6 months, and his return to management got many talking. A shock resignation at Barnsley, was followed by the same at Lisbon. Today he sat down to talk about Barnsley, and the new Norwich City.
Interviewer: G'day mate.
Harris: Cringe. But, hello good sir.
I: So, how you going?
H: Good mate, I am in a much better place now, mentally and physically. I am excited by this season.
I: Barnsley, your former side are looking like a real top 10 or maybe even top 8 under their new boss, thoughts?
H: He's doing a great job. I wish them all the best. Top 10 is the next step for them. I felt I left them in a great position, depth and money. He has made some wise purchases across the midfield and forward line, and is great to see my legacy of Dia having a real fine season.
I: Can you do the same at Norwich? When you took over Barnsley they were arguably in the worst 5 or 6 sides in the championship. Now they could well be an outside chance of Champions League football. Can you do that at Carrow Road?
H: That is the aim. However, the game is different now. Ab wise, youth wise, money wise, retirement and age wise. The aim is to have a good season, maybe push playoff spots, and then build for a real promotion push next season. It will be hard with the depth of these newly formed squads and even our squaddies require between 200 and 800 minutes of game time. Will be tough. I can promise the fans that we will play inspiring, and attacking football. We are really happy with the signing of Bacuna and now Tom Ince as a back up. Losing a 20 year old may come back to haunt us but we have great depth across the midfield and attack. Defensively we moved on Baath a 17 rater, in return for a 14 rater and bugger all cash. Trust me with this decision though.
I: All the best mate, talk soon!
H: Thank you.
