  • The Spinmaster up to his old tricks

Some think PSG manager Simon 'the Ed' Clark is a little clueless when it comes to the real art of football management:

    Mind Games

Everyone knows titles are won and lost in the mind. Poor Clark has suffered over many seasons. Despite conducting in-depth numerical analysis, which gives him a crucial advantage. He has regularly thrown this away with his mental implosions. These usually happen in the last quarter of the season.

But it looks like Clark has been receiving some special mindset coaching from a mystery helper.

Evidence 1: is Clark's dominant title-winning season when the expected mental implosion never happened

(although this was aided by the extra bonuses his young players received)

Evidence 2: is Clark's new bias power rankings.

The sneaky Clark has apparently been hard at work generating a new system that assesses the 'real strength' of each team. The exact details are shrouded in mystery and covered with various technical terms that no-one (except Clark) understands.

Somewhat miraculously the result of his secret calculations places AS Roma as the top side. This has surprised every manager in the league who can clearly see that PSG is the much stronger side. Most commentators see this is as Clark's attempt at the art of mind games. Putting the Roma boss under pressure as he attempts the treble. Taking all the pressure off the supposedly weaker PSG team.

It has been reported by sources close to the PSG boss. That he was shaking with rage when the TK's dramatic U-turn was announced (Clark was licking his lips at the prospect of GS destroying the Roma team with some 'improvements'). The power rankings have been widely seen as Clark's attempt to gain an advantage over his main title rival.

Hughes seemed unmoved by the PSG's new mind games skills.

'We are not focusing on the advantages Clark has been given in recent seasons. We've been hard at work signing players to improve Roma and give the fans more of the entertainment they have come to love. The treble will be a struggle given the sheer quality of the PSG squad. But we promise the best fans in the world we will give it our best shot'.

Clark was unavailable for comment. But speculation is rife on the identity of his new mental coach. Talbot seems the predictable choice although this is unlikely. Wilson or the inferior Banks are the pick of most commentators. Both denied any involvement.
