With Season 3 of FFO drawing ever closer, the draw for the Champions League group stage has been concluded with Juventus being drawn into group B alongside Premier League champions Leeds United, Bayern Munich & Burnley.
2 seasons ago, Juventus 'enjoyed' their only Champions League campaign to date in a very similar group (Bayern, Burnley & Arsenal) in which they slumped to bottom of the table after winning their opening 2 games before going on to lose the remaining 4 games.
We now take a closer look at their opponent for the upcoming season-
Leeds United:
Leeds were crowned unlikely League Champions just a few weeks ago after pipping Manchester City to the title on the final game of the season.
These two met in Group B of the DPT Trophy last season with Leeds United winning both games and topping the group before crashing out in the Quarter Final stage while Juventus went on to lift the trophy.
That being said, any team who beats Manchester City to the Premier League title is clearly a very good outfit with a very good coach so Leeds United will he favourites to win this group.
Bayern Munich:
Munich are in the middle of a 'rebuild', with the German team signing a number of 20 year old players in recent weeks, looking to develop the games' next great youth squad, but what will they look like next season? Will they be competitive, or will it take a couple of seasons for the young blood to develop?
Bayern finished last season in 8th (For the 2nd season running) so some have suggested that this youth route is just an excuse for being poor but only time will tell if this is the case.
Despite having a poor campaign, Munich will no doubt be up to the task of making every group game very competitive as they'll search to get out of the group.
Burnley:
A team who rarely make changes on the pitch so we'd expect the squad to stay pretty much the same ahead of the next campaign
Burnley come into Season 3 on the back of finishing 4th in the Premier League last season, just 2 points behind 3rd placed Aston Villa.
2 seasons ago, they were the team along with Juventus that crashed out at the group stage but they'll be more than capable of causing some upsets in this group as they didn't finish 4th for no reason.
Here's our way too early predictions for group winners and runners up:
Group A- AS Roma & Atletico Madrid
Group B- Leeds United & Juventus
Group C- Paris Saint-Germain & Real Madrid
Group D- Manchester City & FC Barcelona
