  • Davey, Clark, Wilson - A war of words

Recent weeks has seen Juventus manager Andy Banks wage a war of words against several managers across Europe.

From publicly arguing with the Leeds United manager, Tim Davey, to leaking sensitive materials regarding Paris Saint-Germain manager Simon Clark, to a transfer saga with Inter Milan manager Gary Wilson, Banks has been in the wars and seems to have ran out of friendly faces to turn to.

Banks has always been outspoken, however the last month or so has seen Banks in a constant argument with one manager or another.

First, it was the Leeds United manager Tim Davey.

A dispute regarding Davey backing out of transfer deals 2 seasons ago started out with an off the cuff comment and quickly turned into a alcohol fuelled, rage filled argument as Davey attacked Banks on a public forum, with both managers exchanging insults before a possibly still drunk Davey threatened Banks time and time again.

Davey decided to stay out of the media spotlight after this and following their exit from the DPT trophy and ultimately Banks' Juventus lifting the trophy, Davey announced that he'd leave Leeds United at the end of the season. However, after lifting the Premier League trophy, Davey has decided to stay with the club. Coincidence?

Up next was the newly crowned EFL 1 champions, Paris Saint Germain and their manager Simon Clark.

Banks and Clark have gone back and forth many times in the past, however this relationship turned volatile after Clark PURPOSELY revealed information to Banks that he'd previously TWICE asked the PSG manager not to, however Clark ignored this request.

This led an enraged Banks to leak sensitive information to the footballing world, revealing Clark to be a 'two faced snake'

This has led Clark to tuck his tail between his legs and block any conversion between himself and Banks, but is yet to address his negative, disparaging remarks regarding several different managers.

In both of these incidents, Inter Milan manager Gary Wilson has vilified Banks. Claiming that Banks' comments were uncalled for and out of order but is yet to comment on comments/actions from the other two managers in question.

This leads us onto Gary Wilson's issues with Banks. After Wilson's issues with Banks' actions, the two clashed after a deal between the two broke down, leading to Gary Wilson claiming that Banks had done it on purpose, calling him a liar despite Banks having PROOF that Wilson is the one who has lied in recent times.

Wilson made claims that his Inter Milan team had the better of the statistics this season, but after being proved wrong on 2 of the 4 categories, Gary Wilson refuses to admit this, claiming that he's still right.

The Inter Milan manager has a history of moving the goal posts to suit his argument and not listening to anyone else's opinion other than his own so we shouldn't be surprised here.

We asked Banks for comments on the 3 managers/arguments:

"Well I'll start with Tim. We never had any issues until I called him out for pulling out of transfers, which he did, and then suddenly when I did this..he has a huge issue with me and launched a verbal attack my way when he was intoxicated.

This culminated in a vile argument between us both, where we BOTH made comments that were harsh and uncalled for yet I'm yet to see anyone say anything negative towards Tim, while my name has been dragged through the mud. Double standard if ever I saw it.

Since then, he's had my name in his mouth more times than I care to count, wishing that West Ham United would beat ourselves in the DPT trophy final after the Hammers had knocked his Leeds United team out in the Quarter finals, yet when I responded after we won the competition, he didn't like it and resigned from his position at Leeds and yet again I was publicly slated. In my book if you can't take it then you shouldn't give it out. Anyways, Leeds United won the Premier League and he's suddenly signed a new contract.

As for the rat Clark at PSG, I've made my feelings perfectly clear on his actions and I feel like my response was perfectly justified and the fact that he's gone into hiding almost just shows his character. But we shouldn't be surprised. The man didn't leave his bedroom for 2 days after the loss in the Champions League final.

I have no interest in pandering to an arrogant, selfish manager so no interaction with Clark suits me just fine. At least the world knows that he's a snake.

Finally, Gary Wilson and his inability to admit when he's wrong. This just makes me laugh. He acts like a 7 year old, yet he's in charge of a football team.

His allegations regarding the Y_Adli transfer are totally unfounded and after his history of cancelling deals he should be careful of who he accuses.

Wilson recently cancelled a transfer with Blackburn Rovers, and then magically had another deal lined up with Celtic just hours later.
It's thought that Celtic just made a better offer than Blackburn but both clubs have denied this.

To summarise, if anyone thinks I'm here to be abused or accused and I'll just stand here and take it, then they couldn't be more wrong."
