  • The EFL2 Whip-Around "The Executive Order Edition"

The next campaign has started and the drama at the top has started too. We are fixme percent completed with the season and the drama has already started at the top. It’s time for the Whip-Around.

Out of the Block like Sprinters: FC_Porto, Feyenoord, Benfica--These three clubs heard the starting gun and leaped into action. You’ll only find two losses this groups’ body of work. Porto has the top spot, one point ahead of Feyenoord, but look at these Feyenoord stats!
    • Goalscorers: They have 2 of top three snipers
    • Assists: Top two
    • Passes: Number 1
    • Shots: Number 3
    • MoM: D_Scarlett has 3 already!
This is the sound of an offensive locomotive running at full throttle. We’ll see if Porto can keep up.

Keeping the pace and biding their time: Lazio, Valencia, Dortmund, Lyon—Just outside the top group, these clubs are well within striking distance. Each one have a problem to solve to move up. Lazio is not scoring to a lot of goals. Valencia has been inconsistent and hasn’t put two back-to-back wins yet. Dortmund is scoring plenty of goals, but the defense looks porous and they are condeded nearly as many. Lyon is nearly in the playoff spot, but has dropped games at the wrong time. Any of these clubs be be up in the top three in the next few games.

Hanging in: Rennes, Wolfsburg, Liepzig, Bilbao—Feast for famine is the theme for this group, not many draws (except Bilbao’s 3). Everyone here is maintaining an even keel and sit in P8 through P11.

Needs to do the work: Atalanta, Ajax, Union Berlin, Schalke, Shakhtar, PSV, Betis: P12 to P17 is where you’ll find the land of negative goal differentials. Ajax and Atalanta are above water there, but everyone else is conceding lot of goals. Real Betis leads the league with 18 goals allowed, but Schalke and Shakhtar are nearly as bad. Betis has played a couple of the top clubs maybe to matches with weaker teams will keep the defense some confidence

Do I hear the fat lady singing? Already?: Salzburg, Sparta—Dear Dog in heaven, what are these two playing at? No wins, four draws. Some might point to luck because they’re matches look competitive. However, for another season Salszburgs midfield has been exposed as… How can I say this diplomatically. Unskilled. Sparta huge roster is not yielding much yet. This is a raw bunch, and they could be in for long season while skills mature. They cannot blame this on their keeper.

That’s all for now, we’ll be back in 3 weeks for to take another set of snapshots and find out which manager has the ugliest baby. Cheers!
