    MANCHESTER UNITED 5-2 Sheffield United

Re ran game and beat a random. A more eventful game than we expected but we did deserve the win albeit doing it the hard way. Some aspects worked a bit better for us others not so, shows how volatile the game can be. But got 3 points, a good display and we stay up there with Chelsea and City.

We keep doing what we can, we have a couple of players near to rating up so that might be a slight difference as games tick off, but we still have to decide whether or not we keep a heavier squad until the end of the season, with the window being pulled forward.

      Burnley 6-1 Crystal Palace

Not sure if any of you heard that resounding crash, but it was the sound of Palace returning back to Earth with an almighty thud.

Tried to keep it tight early on and ended up conceding with five defenders and a D tactic with the bonus against a P in the first minute. Kept it a one goal game and then conceded a dagger just before half time. Then we were punished for a very naive A whilst chasing the game away from home against a quality side and manager.

ESMS has a way of humbling you which I’m still not always remembering after my time away. The only solace from today is that we’ve had one before the FA Cup semi final. Liverpool may be without players for that, but we’ve got a bit of soul searching to do after today’s battering.

      Played Simon.

        Aston Villa 4 Liverpool 1

Classic ESMS, we have a big cup semi final on Wednesday and it's almost as if the programme knows to royally fuck us over ahead of it.

Red cards to our star striker and a key defender as well as a yellow to another starting defender will see us head to Wembley (or wherever it's played) down 3 vital players and to say that's a body blow is an understatement. We have a bit of depth but the drop off in quality from these 3 is significant so it already feels that it'll be too much to overcome.

As for this game, Villa were absolutely worth their win with a dominant performance and fair play to them they are going really well. However for us it was just one of those games where absolutely everything went against us. 2-1 down at HT we are still right in the game but we're then hit with the freak own goal treatment, then the 2 red cards and a penalty given to Villa late on - the only surprise was that Courtois only saw yellow. I think if it had been another red I'd have just awarded the semi to Palace!

We'll bandage the team up and bring in a few lower raters and hope they can get the job done. We already had a plan in place as to what tactic we'd play etc so just have to decide if I stick with it given the absentees

          Chelsea 0 - 0 Leicester City

Two out again for this one, but we struck out in this game and could only manage a disapointing draw. We had the best of it, but just couldn't find the break through with the big APE attack.
