    MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

As much as I felt we deserved the three points we did it the hard way. Rovers have seemed to chop and change recently and are in a very good league position. But we slipped to a goal in 19 minutes and Moscardo popped up to level the game right on half time. We kept to our game plan, didn't get too rash and once we freshened the squad late on with some more attack minded tweaks and that seemed to push us over the line with Gavi scoring late on.

After the break from games it's pleasing to get back with a win. We have to just keep doing what we're doing and keep probing away at the games, we knew we're the hunter in this chase as we're behind for now, and we want to get back to being the hunted.

      Crystal Palace 6-3 Cardiff City

Eventually came out on top in an absolute goalfest, but it’s concerning again that the moment we try and open up and play with a bit more flair, we go to pieces at the back. Obviously the six goals scored is fantastic and the result moves us up to 10th, but I just knew at 3-1 we would concede the next goal, and luckily we had a few more in us when Cardiff got it back to 3-3.

Onto the second leg with Celtic in the DPT next - no Fabinho which is a shame but we will try and find a way to progress without him.

        Sheffield Utd 1 Liverpool 4

We went into the short break in slightly better form than previously and I was looking forward to seeing how we'd perform in a game that we should be winning against the team cut adrift at the bottom of the league.

Shock horror we came out of the traps slower than a wet weekend in Bognor Regis and trailed within 2 minutes of the kick off. We managed to get back on level terms quickly through Mudryk but at half time it was still 1-1 and at that stage I was thinking surely we aren't going to let ourselves down yet again? A few choice words and a couple of smashed chairs in the changing room had the desired effect as we immediately scored at the start of the 2nd half and from there on in we looked pretty comfortable with the added bonus of getting a couple of players some much needed minutes.

We finally climb back into the top eight and we have to make sure we stay there. Before we return to league duty we face a huge Champions League quarter final 2nd leg against Atletico with the tie level and very much in the balance. They have the 2nd highest wage bill in the entire game and an extremely wily manager so we are going to need to be at our very best...or luckiest...to progress. Quite frankly either will do!

          Chelsea 3 - 1 Leeds

With the HQ team back from their much needed and earned rest, the league leaders needed to get back to winning ways after their humping by City before the break. Chelsea raced into an early 3-0 lead in the first half and although Leeds pulled one back from a penny we took the three points we needed, and surpisingly avoided any yellow cards. New recruit Casamiro made his debut for the club filling in for the suspended Varane and did an admirable job.
