    Barnsley 1-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

    What a poor result but we did everything but score on the day, woeful finishing to sum it up. We played the better football for most of the game with Barnsley more getting their better periods when we opened up in the second half. Oblak is having a bit of a mare, today concedes a freekick which they ultimately scored from. Not much we can say, Barnsley on paper maybe a bit fortuitous, but they did what we couldn't do, put the ball in the back of the net. Back to the drawing board it is really! We'll try to put this right on Monday, 3 games left in the first half of the season, which has been a bit mixed by our standards.

      Liverpool 2 Man City 0

      After consecutive feeble defeats against Man Utd and Chelsea I can't say we went into this game against another of the Premier League's better sides with much optimism. City have started the season well and we've been absolutely atrocious in the league but we actually performed well in this one and two late goals from Mudryk and de Tomas gave us a deserved win and a much needed 3 points.

      Even with the win we still sit in an embarrassingly low 15th position in the table rapidly approaching the half way stage of the season which is totally unacceptable for a club of this stature. We are only 2 points off the relegation places and the pressure is on to start getting results and climb the table. We've deliberately stayed clear of the transfer market recently but maybe it's time to try and freshen things up a bit.

      Next up a trip to Elland Road and of course our last visit there was when we tossed away the league title on the final day of last season so it would be nice to go there and exorcise those demons but again we know it will be far from easy as Tim and his Leeds side are always tough opposition.

        Crystal Palace 3-2 Newcastle

        Huge win for us before heading into the league run of United, Chelsea, City. Somewhat thankful to take the three points considering we squandered a two goal lead and managed to score three with just eight shots on target - Newcastle clearly favour the attacking approach but Strakosha is racking up the saves anyway.

        Tuta’s dumb red card the only real downside which means I have some thinking to do about our tactical setup at United.

          West Ham 1 - 2 Chelsea

          A hard fought London derby saw the Spice Boys claim all three points, propelling them to the top of the league for the first time in many seasons, with both Manchester clubs dropping points. The original aim this season was to secure third place and finish as the top London club in the Premier League, but it seems we might be ahead of schedule, after all, a serious title challenge wasn’t expected until next season. That said, we’re not getting ahead of ourselves and will stick to our original goals, with anything beyond that a welcome bonus. Still, doesn’t the league table look beautiful with Chelsea blue sitting proudly at the top?

            Blackburn Rovers 1 - 1 Arsenal

            Another game in which Arsenal were far from at the races but somehow managed to avoid defeat by taking a point, this time away at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers. Yet again it was Arsenal that took the lad through Timo Werner but a leaky defence yet again allowed the lead to slip and Rovers get back level. It was then a case of Arsenal holding on as best as they could whch they managed to and a point away at in form Rovers was the end result.

            The Arsenal boss spoke after the game ;

            " We knew it was going to be a tough game. They have been superb this season and although we came up a bit short in terms of performance, its still a good point on the road against an in form side but we need to work on not giving away leads so easily, we get in front but cant seem to go and get that second goal right now but we still sit in a sensible position and will hopefully get it right sooner rather than later ".
