    Arsenal 1-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

    Simple game, we kept the same team from midweek just tried a different tactic and the CVC battle lost. We conceded early and never got into the game is the best summary I can make. It's chalk and cheese from Wednesday and we knew we'd be coming up to a tricky run of games and despite our recent form in the league,, this is our worst performance of the season maybe,

    We'll just have to keep going, we're 8 behind City and to be honest it looks like it's too much to catch up even at this stage. Despite us having one of the higher rated 'keepers in the game, he's numbers seem pretty poor being truthful.

      Aston Villa 1 - 2 Chelsea

      Was unsure who would be in the opposition dug out so was difficult to sheet for this one with the job being decided on the same day as the match. I expected a very close game and that's what we got with it being 31-30 on 'chances'. Goals from Firminio and Leao got us the win in what was very much a 50/50 game. We go up into 3rd on goal difference, still some way behind top placed Man City who just seem to grind out these 1-0 type wins. Couple of players rated up on 2nds including Leao and Lacroix which is always good news, but today marked the final game for Doku in his short Chelsea career as a transfer has been done with PSG that will see Fati and cash come in the other direction as the club continues to build and grind out value were they can with these savagely high wages to pay for.

        Liverpool 1 Barnsley 1

        Another poor result for us as we conceded with the final kick of the game. We stuck with the passing approach that has done us no favours this season and it was no shock to face the conservative counter attacking set up from our visitors.

        We got ourselves in front but in truth the stats were pretty even and we can't really grudge Barnsley their last gasp leveller. Again I probably have only myself to blame for not trying to adjust things when we got ahead.

        We're beginning to be a bit like Roy McAvoy on the 72nd hole in Tin Cup with our passing approach. Failing miserably but determined to persist with it regardless until it finally works.

        Relegation scrap now in full effect.

          Arsenal 1 - 0 Manchester United

          Next up for Arsenal was a home game against one of the sides who are setting the pace, Man Utd at The Emirates. Despite the draw against Palace in the last game, Arsenal still find themselves on a good run and this win will certainly give them confidence going into the first of three games in a week against United.

          A goal after just five minutes from Defender Luiz Felipe put the hosts in the lead and it really should have been more. On the other hand, despite not getting any more goals, Arsenal held strong at the back for ninety minutes to keep an in form United side out. A huge three points and another clean sheet for Arsenal which has delighted the gaffer as he said afterwards ;

          " Both sides will certainly be getting to know each other in the next ten days, playing each other three times so this we hope will set the bar and give us hope we can get a result in the Champions League. We deserved the win, we outplayed them today in a game where it went well for us. They need no introductions, they are a class side who we battle every season with so to get a win is great for the confidence of the players and a big three points to keep the pressure on those around us "
