    Burnley 3 - 0 Barnsley

We didn´t expect an easy match as Barnsley in fact do have a solid squad. However, they keep rotating their top players with the youth prospects and decided to let 3 key players rest on the bench. That made it a bit easier for us and we managed to score three goals and hold a clean sheet. Ekitike finaly found a glimse of form and scored a goal after 6 matches without any luck. Pogba and Boadu added each one more goals. Boadu is top scorer now, good to see our investment into refreshing our squad starts paying off.

After three losses from the three openning matches we managed to get on the track, sitting 8th in the table with 9 points. World looking a bit brighter now.

      MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 Leicester City

One of those frustrating games where we did everything but kill it off and then bang as the game goes on they score.

I genuinely don't know what more we could've done, made chances but ultimately their goalkeeper made some big saves whilst we didn't have enough cutting edge, whilst on the flip side Jan Oblak makes it 6 goals conceded this week. We tried to ride the game out to boot and that didn't work. We'll brush it under the carpet but feel we've wasted 2 points here, but well done to Leicester who saw their chance and took it when it mattered.

We've had a mixed week and to be fair, a mixed start to the season, we obviously are not good enough, as has been our case for a number of years we just concede for fun which I'd love to try and address but am not sure how.

        Arsenal 2 - 3 Newcastle United

We have to be frustrated at not winning this after creating so many chances. Take nothing away from Newcastle who created plenty themselves and got the three points but from our point, being at home we really should be winning games like these so a bit deflated after this one. Werner and Gvardiol getting our goals is a big plus but a shame we couldnt hold on for the win.

Six games in, three wins, one draw and two defeats is an ok start but we do need to improve.

        Played mate.

          Chelsea 2 - 1 Wolves

Although Ray has been quiet lately, taking a short break from the Discord Disco before recently returning - we knew Ray is a good manager and wouldn’t be on autopilot – we expected him to try and counter us in some form. We set up anticipating a possible N, which did arrive during the match but not from the start, as Wolves played on the counter against our initial passing style.

We weren’t unhappy with this, as we’re confident in our P and A against most teams C, and that proved to be the case today. Doku opened the scoring on 25 minutes, before Wolves switched to the N at -1. We added a second goal through golden oldie KDB, and at +2, we decided to give the squad players some minutes. This nearly cost us, as the away side pulled one back in the 80th minute. However, it felt like if there was to be another goal, it would go the way of the Spice Boys. In the end, nothing else happened, and we secured the three points to leap up the table into 4th spot. GG Ray.

            Chelsea 2
            J Doku (25), K De Bruyne (63)

            Wolves 1
            N Jackson (80)

            Injured: M Cunha (60)

            HT: 1-0
            MotM: K De Bruyne (Chelsea)

The second in a tough run of three consecutive league games against the cream of the Prem. And again, much like the encounter with Manchester United, the newly promoted Wolves side didn’t look overwhelmed by their opposition. But ultimately though the visitors just didn’t have enough to get anything from the game. Overall possession was even between the two sides and Chelsea only had eight shots on target compared to Wolves six, but Chelsea just proved that little more clinical in front of goal. The upside was that Wolves had tactical advantage throughout which bodes well for the season and certainly helped to keep us in contention. Nicolas Jackson continued his scoring run, but his late goal proved to be very much only a consolation. But it did make the final fourteen minutes of the game that bit more interesting. The massive downside was the injury picked up by midfielder Matheus Cunha who was stretchered off injured on the hour mark just three minutes before Chelsea scored their second goal. Thankfully, although it looked bad the knock proved less serious than first thought and he will only miss the one game while he recovers.

            Very well played Steve.

Next game sees Wolves, minus Cunha, play hosts to the juggernaut that is Manchester City in the latest game against a top Prem side.

              Spurs 2 Liverpool 0

Went with the ever unreliable E which, particularly away from home, probably wasn't the most sensible idea.

Spurs took the lead and switched to a counter attacking style but even with a 50 mins or so period of having the tactical bonus we didn't really create very much which is disappointing. We switched to all out attack mode later on and Spurs added a 2nd goal deep into injury time which in truth flatters them but ultimately we just weren't good enough and we've got to try and start finding the right solutions before we find ourselves falling completely off the pace.

Played Tim - Spurs proving to be a bit of a bogey side for us.
