    Wolves 1-2 MANCHESTER UNITED

You'd expect us to win this one and it was a tougher game than it should've been. Wolves tried a mixed game and I thought it played into our hands when I saw the team sheets but how wrong was I. We conceded within 5 minutes. We did control the ball and had to be a little patient and scored our goals in each half, but Wolves still made chances which I'm not too pleased with, as I though we should've been able to control the game better, that said, maybe that is a bit naïve of me given we're the first team to beat them this season.

It's a good result but we want better performances, we've got some big games coming up and we need to maintain the results but we can improve the performances.

      Arsenal 1-0 Aston Villa

going to Daz without Jesus was criminal, however the lads held themselves nicely. Ok it’s a loss but I’m not too deterred by it.

The arsenal defender getting MOM says we played ok.

and to only lose by 1 in a relatively even match, can I grumble. Nahhhh

      good game Daz.

        Cardiff 2 - 4 Chelsea

Could have been a banana skin slip waiting to happen away to Cardiff. But despte falling behind early in the game we soon pulled 1-3 ahead with goals from Leao, Firminio and Doku and decided to get some minutes into the subs. This could have cost us as Cardiff pulled it back to 2-3 but thankfully the next goal was to the Spice Boys as one of the subs Zefi made it safe with a late goal. A good solid three points here in a game in which Lamptey made his return to Chelsea despite having been sold in the bonanza. Seemingly Talbot must have regrettted selling the ball playing defender.

          Liverpool 3 Bristol City 0

This was a case of remaining patient and believing things would eventually fall into place if we persisted with what we were doing. Credit to Bristol for hanging in so long but we finally took control of things late on after Grealish opened the scoring in the 72nd minute. Bristol then opened up and we capitalised with another couple of goals to give the final score line a very flattering look.

The 3 points were merited though and much needed after the defeat at Burnley. 10 points from our opening 5 games is a little short of what we were hoping for in all honesty as we haven't faced any of the 'elite' sides as yet - although that changes on Friday when we visit reigning champions Spurs.

Before that though the small matter of a Champions League game against Man City, our first experience of this competition in a long time.

            Booked: J_Oblak (11)

            HT: 1-1
            MotM: Joao_Pedro (Wolves)

Only our second home match of the campaign and we came into this difficult encounter with Manchester United unbeaten and sitting high in the table. Unfortunately, that was all about to change despite the fact that Wolves took first blood with a great goal from Joao Pedro after only five minutes. Twenty minutes later United fashioned an equaliser that put the home fans on edge. United grabbed their second, and winning goal, midway through the second half. Wolves couldn’t manage to respond, and the far stronger visitors broke the home team despite all their efforts. Overall Manchester United were good value for the win having dominated for much of the game. We had hoped that the early yellow card for United’s keeper Jan Oblak might have been an issue later in the game, the hope never materialised as the keeper maintained his discipline throughout the rest of the game and stayed on the pitch.

Very well played Steve. Despite the gulf in class between the two sides, we were just glad to keep it close.

              Arsenal 1 - 0 Aston Villa

We had to work hard for this win against Villa who have started the season well. The only goal of the game coming from Timo Werner on 46 minutes but with just the one goal lea you can never relax and Villa have goals in them as they've showed so far this season. We were forced to make a change at the back with Hickey suspended but Raum is more than able to fill the void and he actually played well in his first start of the season.

Pleased to see Lepenant get man of the match aswell, playing in a different position to which we bough him for but the main thing was the result which we got so pleased in that respect but the performance was far from our best.
