    Manchester City 2-0 MANCHESTER UNITED

Picked up where we left off from last season to be honest.

City away, couldn't ask for a tougher start and we was well in the game, despite the tie being relatively boring for the neutrals. Once we opened up late on we got picked off with 2 goals and its frustrating to say the least. We tried to be more positive last season against City and had little fortune and again it happened today. We move on, its another poor start in terms of result to the campaign, but we'll move on and hope our fortunes improve.

      Newcastle 3-3 Chelsea

Got absolutely battered but managed to hang on. Positives to build upon for the rest of the season.

        Spurs 3 Bristol City 1

Started off like we ended last season - I’m sure we’ll have some tougher tests but a great start and win against my old club with a solid performance, gg Bemlyn and good luck with City! Make sure you all post your predictions on the thread for shits and giggles

          Villa 3-2 Burnley

well this game had it all,

a much changed Villa from last season, and numerous debuts.
3 minutes in and kubo opened his account, Todibo doubled it, and then ndidi got sent off.

burnley hit back with 2 but that man Jesus, who was potentially on his way out, grabbing the winner and 10 man Villa held firm.

          gg

            Leeds United 1-2 Crystal Palace

Delighted to return to FFO with an away victory to start the season! We got a dream start through Dike, and despite conceding, Fabinho won us the game later on.

Really need the first ten games or so to assess where the team is at so to win in the first one is great and takes a bit of pressure off while we work things out.

Blackburn up next at Selhurst on Friday. Best of luck for the rest of the season Tim!

              Arsenal 2 - 1 Sheffield United

A winning start for Arsenal in a fixture that we really do need to be getting all three points from and we did just that to kick our season off. In seasons gon by we have struggled to get past the newly promoted sides or so called ' winnable ' games although we did make hard work of this one despite us being the better of the two sides.

Michael Olise getting his first of the season and a debut goal for Luiz Fellipe got us the three points but it should have been by more after producing seventeen shots on goal but credit to Sheffield United, they didn't come to the Emirates to just sit back and their defence kept us at bay for a large part of the game

All in all, a good result to start the season off.

Played mate, best of luck for the season.

                Newcastle United 3 - 3 Chelsea

On a first read through it felt like an even'ish game we edged, but looking at the stats with a 16-31 shot count and reading it for a 2nd time we can count ourselves unlucky not to walk away with three points. Newcastle are a good team though, we battled them many times last season in league and cups so a point on the road isn't to be sniffed at. Gordon scored on his debut for the club but the next league game will be his last for Chelsea as he will be leaving to join co-title favourites Manchester City, with Rovella coming into Stamford Bridge in return which fills the DM gap for the Spice Boys.

                  Liverpool 1 Wolves 1

We started brightly against the anticipated counter attacking approach and got ourselves ahead after only 8 minutes.

We then changed tactic to a passing approach which handed them the bonus and it would be easy to say that's what allowed them back into the game but the truth is we pretty much dominated throughout and did more than enough to come away with the win other than the most important thing and that's sticking the ball in the back of the net. A solitary goal from 9 shots on target compared to Wolves one from 2 shots.

Frustrating and not good enough. If we want to be challenging for the title you simply have to win these games.

Played Ray, I'm sure you'll do well this season.

                    Aston Villa 3 - 2 Burnley

We're still in the process of rebuilding our squad. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to sign any new players in the auction, and our number 4 defender, Hummels, is still on his way from Blackburn. Missing two regular players in defense and midfield made facing Villa at their stadium even tougher.

The match didn't start well for us. Kubo scored an early goal in the 3rd minute, putting Villa ahead 1-0. Just 11 minutes later, Todibo added another goal, and Villa parked the bus in front of their goal. Our fans thought it was game over. However, just seconds after the second goal, Ndidi was sent off, giving us a numerical advantage for more than 80 minutes. We managed to equalize in the 55th minute with goals from Pedri and Boadu.

Unfortunately, we weren't productive enough and missed a couple of chances, while Villa managed to score the winner. Despite having some strong moments, overall, we failed to capitalize on our opportunities and made too many mistakes that cost us the game.

Next up is Arsenal, another tough match, but hopefully, we'll put in a better performance.
