    Bournemouth 4 - 1 Huddersfield Town

    D_Ouattara (36,46), B_Jackson (54 og), G_Reyna (92)

First game in caretaker charge for Simon Marsh and despite picking a weaker line up for financial gain Bournemouth served up an amazing result to start the season.
The plan is to get a few players re-rated and sold and some made progress towards their targets. The quicker these players can get there the better as it will allow more time for players to get their minutes but more importantly get the younger eleven on the field to start to develop for the future. Money comes first though.

Marsh commented "I was surprised by the result. Having gone one-nil down the lads really came back well and we will take any points at present because the club are expected to finish in the bottom few sides. It would be a nice bonus to get as high as possible for prize money but we are under no illusion this will be a tough season and theres no point getting carried away. Having said that 6 managers could not even get a correct teamsheet in after 3 months of preparation time. Maybe this will help the Bournemouth cause!".

      Nottingham Forest 1-1 Watford

      HD's reaction:

Look, we dominated that match for large stretches and should've come away with all three points, simple as that. We had more than double their attempts on goal, and M_Okoye in their net had to pull off some worldies to keep them in it.

I thought G_Montiel was brilliant today - what a strike for the goal. Forty yards out, something like that? Seriously, he showed exactly why we kept faith with this squad over the break. The lads here deserve their chance.

The frustrating bit is we switched off right after scoring. Can't do that at this level. Embolo's a quality striker and he punished us, fair play to him. But when you look at the chances we created - M_Gibbs_White pulling strings, C_Hudson_Odoi causing them problems, O_Edouard getting into great positions - we just needed that clinical edge today.

Opening day, point on the board, could be worse. But yeah, bit gutted we couldn't give the fans the three points they deserved. Their support was massive today, as always. We'll work on our finishing this week and go again at Birmingham on Friday.

Credit to Watford though - they've got Premier League quality all over the pitch and they showed why they'll be up there this season. But if we keep creating chances like that, we'll win more than we lose. Just got to be more ruthless in front of goal.

Windebank Schools Lippy Hopton In His Own Backyard

        Ipswich Town 0 Millwall 3

He sat in his bed full of confidence deciding what players and tactics to use to smash a Club he dismissed as shite. With his chest puffed out full of confidence he spouted words he believed on social media, he was brave he was bold he is Jason Hopton.

He walked down the touchline pumping his fists as the tractor boys embraced the Wolfsburg manager in his first game in charge.

Within a minute you could only hear the travelling Millwall army as the Tractor Boys fell silent. Aidomo Emakhu went on a dribble easily went past Tuanzebe and with the outside of his left boot scored his and Millwall's first goal of the season.

In the 17th minute debutant Moussa Diaby went through an hole in Hopton's defence and a thunderous shot sent the Millwall faithful wild as the Lions doubled their lead.

Millwall were taking the piss and Hopton looked crestfallen as Kabadayi backed heeled the ball to Rasmus Hojlund who easily lobbed Patterson in the Ipswich goal to make the score an embarrassing 3-0.

Windebank shut up shop and Hopton's pre match puffed out chest was replaced with a numb look as the Millwall fans chanted "your fucking shit, your fucking shit, your fucking shit your fucking shit your fucking shit."

        Windebank said

What a great performance today, Rome Jayden had a great game in goal and all eleven players played out their skin with Thiago rating up and Stenman nearly doing so as well.

Emakhu is off the mark with Diaby and Hojlund also hitting the net I could not be happier.

Hopton talked a good game its a shame his players could not replicate that arrogance on the pitch. It will be interesting to see if his main team can perform better at Leipzig where we go head to head against my other shite team.

          Stockport 1-1 Luton

Not a bad result for the travelling Luton fans to celebrate, even though Stockport don't look as impressive a side as last season.
The home side started well with an early goal from Pazzini, which spurred a tactical rethink on the away bench.
Things improved and the reliable Awoniyi got the equaliser, and Luton pressed hard for the winner, but lacked the guile up front to put the chances away.
Their is a new striker coming in next week, so hopefully the increased fire power might help up front.
The stats showed Luton enjoyed a lot of possession, and edged the shots, but will take the draw. Gg Bridgey.

            Everton 2-1 Norwich
A false start for the season as Everton took the lead after 3 minutes and dominated the rest of the game. The consolation goal papered over a slow performance but it is to be expected given the quality issues in the team currently

GG David, good luck getting Everton back to Prem
