    MANCHESTER UNITED 1-1 Arsenal

We deserved the win and had to wait to salvage a point. We countered Arsenal for a large chunk of the game and had no luck breaking through. We threw caution to the wind with a very heavy attacking finish, a similar approach to against Madrid and despite Arsenal trying to hit us on the break, we was too strong and finally got the equaliser in the 90th minute. We have a chance still of going through and to be truthful had we lost we've have been out as far as I'm concerned, but with 2 games left we have a chance. We have done well 3/4 games but on 4 points and another shoddy goal difference is showing a poor European campaign,

      Juventus 2 Atletico Madrid 0

Bah!! Juventus must have bribed the gods for better treatment in the fourth game between the clubs this season. Atletico had to try and protect a Urbig a 24-rated goalkeeper with number1 and 27-rated Martinez injured. Worst still..........6minutes in and Van-De-Ven limps off the field. A 23-17-14 replaced by a 17-12-7 Pieters. It just didnt feel like a fair fight and the inevetiable happened with Juventus running out comfortable 2-0 winners.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We did what we though was best in trying to protect Urbig and gain a result. Unfortunately losing De-Ven was a step too far. You cant go to one of the top sides in FFO short of 2 key players and expect to get much. Thankfully Southampton beat Leeds which sees us with a handy gap and both the premier sides to play at home. It is in our hands still. We beat Leeds in the next game and could have qualified should Juve hold Southampton"

Thankfully De-Ven will be available for the next game and so it is 2 league games left with Urbig in goal.

        Real 2-1 Bayern

And with that we qualify which is a welcome treat.
Bayern started with their expected C against our E and went into an early lead before trying to shut up shop by going defensively. This pushed us forward and goals from Lobotka and Rodrygo put us ahead and we saw the game out. Bit concerned by Militao's form recently but will see if he can improve.
We will aim to finish the group as strongly as possible but it's nice to be through already.

          Chelsea 0 - 3 Barcelona

Really disapointing result. It seemed to be heading towards a dour type draw until the 63rd minute when our DM Lamptey got red carded. Barca 10 minutes later got the first goal, and then switched to the big D, aka the Mati. Two late goals followed for Barca despite the switch to bus being parked (only the 2nd score via a D). Luckily for us Spurs also beat Inter which means we are somehow still in 2nd place in the group. But we have a tough trip away to Inter and group leaders Spurs still to come so it may very well be tough for us to progress now, but as ever we will give it a go.

            Liverpool 2 AC Milan 1

This game burst into life in the final 20 minutes - ironically right after Milan switched from an attacking style to match our counter attacking set up. Our young striker Niang came off the bench to put us ahead in the 72nd minute but the celebrations had barely died down when Milan equalised through their own young substitute Kalou. The game looked to be heading for a draw and a massive missed opportunity for us but for the 2nd game running Jordi Alba came off the bench to score in injury time to send Anfield into absolute meltdown. Feel like we deserved it too looking at the stats.

If I've done my sums correctly we are already guaranteed to progress as Milan still have to play Paris Saint Germain so that's a great feeling in such a tough group. The aim from here on in has to be to try and finish top of the table although in all honesty you can often end up facing just as difficult a quarter final tie finishing as group winners.
