    Union Berlin 2-2 SHAKHTAR DONETSK

Relieved in the end and one we didn't do too well in until later on.

We trailed when being countered, Union really got their game going early and simply out ran us for the first half and deservedly lead. Once we changed our set up to gain the advantage in the game and we did get into the game more and pulled one back. We then had Sudakov sent off and it felt like we was done. Thankfully Baro popped up late one to steal a point. It's a great show of character for sure to turn a two goal deficit around, but in truth I'm not happy with how we did first half. We don't expect to achieve the rewards we did last season, but performances like that first half will put us into a long long campaign and potentially facing a polar opposite.

But we'll go again, we have a bye in the cup which doesn't even allow us to get Sudakov back for the next game in the league.

      Rennes 2 PSV 4

Fantastic win for us in a pretty even game Duffus up front showed he’s no such thing with a brace and the youngsters did very well. Any wins will be magic for this club as we blood the youth, apologies for the tactical change which saw Couto not sure where he was playing, good game cheers

Tears Before Bedtime Tonight For Hopton As Windebank Schools Him Again!!!!!

        RB Leipzig 3
        Wolfsburg 0

Not the proud peacock he was at Portman Road Hopton rapidly walked to the dugout with his head down. The look on his face was a mixture of intrigue and apprehension as he hoped his main team would put on a better performance than his caretaker team, after all surely his team will at least score with 24 rated Vinicius Jr up front?

The game was even with Junior looking nervous in front of goal until the 15th minute when loanee Jack Wilshere pushed the ball past a Wolfsburg defender before lobbing a static Kepa to give Leipzig the lead.

Luka Jović left Junior for dead in the 31st minute before unleashing a pile driver to give Leipzig a deserved 2-0 lead.

The game was over eight minutes later as Leipzig grew wings and the other loanee Farnerud thread the ball through to Luka who got his 2nd of the game and Leipzig third.

Leipzig shut up shop and the game ended exactly the same as the other fixture between the two managers.

Hopton shuffled down the touchline with his head down a glistering red and hands in his pockets as the chant of "it happened again, it happened again, Hopton got stuffed 3-0, it's happened again"

        Windebank said

ha ha ha that was comedy gold just over 24 hours ago Jason was telling the FFO world that he compiled his tactics and team sheet in bed and told me that "was easy for me, both your teams are so shite I just went double A"

So today's results I find taste even better than normal when my sides win. Let's not get it twisted both my sides smashed the fanny out of Hopton's and maybe for his next games he might want to do his sheets over a bowl of cornflakes.

One thing is for sure Jason might have trouble sleeping tonight with my sides haunting his dreams.

          Leipzig 3-0 Wolfsburg

We were tossed around and chewed up like a dog toy, with windy being the big ass Rottweiler. Not once did he drop us across a double header fixture. Both results the same and both the frontline of Ipswich and Wolfsburg looking tamer than a hairdressers chihuahua.

Good games Windy… I’ll take reassurance that the scoreline didn’t reflect the stats (that’s what losers say right?)

let’s hope this isn’t a reflection of the season ahead and we perform better against a league 3 side in the domestics

            Rennes 2-4 PSV

Depite the result, quite happy with the performance. Possession was completely even and when we had the ball we created more clear cut chances. It looks like PSV had more action on the match report but that is mainly because one of their players doesn't know if he is a defender or a midiflelder!
We produced some very good football, their keeper has played one of the games of his life and our keeper has had a stinker and that is the only reason we ended up on the wrong end of the scoreline. That's the way things often go because all goalkeepers are horribly unpredictable and some days we will benefit from the opposite.
Lots of positive, good gains for some of the players and entertainment for the fans. On to the next one!

              Schalke 1 - 6 Borussia Dortmund

Like riding a bike! A storming performance away to Schalke, with the team firing on all cylinders. The players delivered a masterclass, scoring plenty of goals—no complaints here! While the squad could still use some trimming, this performance gave a few players a strong case to stick around, we shall see what happens.

Next up: a cup clash against Club Brugge. Onwards!

                Sparta Prague 0 – FC Porto 2

FC Porto finished last season in fifth place in EFL2, but were ultimately unable to make it through the play-offs to qualify for EFL1 for the coming season. The appointed former Norwich caretaker manager John Read in a caretaker capacity for the coming season and his first game in charge saw the Portuguese side travel to Prague.

With minimal alterations in the close season, Porto lined up with 2 free agent signings on the bench but with loan arrival Jonathan De Guzman in a defensive midfield role alongside Kofi Amoako – a situation that Read has used with success both at Norwich and Inter last season.

Newly appointed captain Mehdi Taremi opened the scoring for Porto from the penalty spot following a foul on Carmo in the penalty area. Approaching the half hour mark Porto were forced into a reshuffle following an injury to Amoako which saw Varela drop back into a more defensive position.

The two teams traded blows across the remainder of the game before defender Joao Mario got on the end of a cross to power a header past Di Gregorio in the Sparta goal to secure the points for the visitors.

Good game Emlyn, good luck for the rest of the season
