    Burnley 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED

We did not meet our expectations today in terms of performance and simply deserved to lose. But in cup football all you need is one moment and we did take a late chance through Adeyemi, a guy whose been bellow par this season infront of goal, hopefully this will spur him on. We are lucky, we are fortunate but playing Burnley is always tricky as they have some very capable players and mix it up. We'll take it but know we need to do better.

      Stoke City 3 - 6 Chelsea

Can Chelsea do it on a cold, rainy night in Stoke? The answer was conculsively yes, as the Spice Boys dispatched their lower division opponents altough the home side did themselves proud in scoring three goals, it was just unfortunate that the Blues scored six! When two goals up, Talbot also got his subs on early to get some much needed minutes into the legs of some squaddie players, such as Petrot, Zefi and Rawson who all got 70 to 73 minutes between them. The minutes played are probably 3-4 normal games worth so it was a great boost to get these plaers ticking over towards their targets. A good win for Chelsea as we progress into the Quarter Finals and earn some much needed prize money.

        Aston Villa 1 Liverpool 4

Finally we produce a strong attacking performance with our shot shy team suddenly remembering how to stick the ball in the back of the net. We've tried various tactics and formations in the league most of which have resulted in epic failure so today felt a bit like going back to basics with a 523P set up.

Honestly hadn't a clue what Villa would play under their new manager but they also played a passing style. The game was evenly poised at 1-1 at half time but by the hour mark we had got ourselves 4-1 in front and that's how it finished. Both sides had over 20 shots so it was a good open game and there's no question that the final score line is harsh on Villa - for once our front players did well particularly Mudryk who got himself a brace.

With the misery we're enduring in the league the cups have become absolutely vital to our season so delighted to progress into the quarters where we'll face Southampton at home and I reckon both managers will be happy enough with that draw.
