Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
A reasonably comfortable win without us pulling any trees up is how I would describe this victory. We had the perfect opportunity to grab an early goal but Rodrygo looked on in horror after seeing his spot kick saved by the Rangers keeper. With tactical advantage against this game was in some ways hard work for us but a second half brace by Doku eventually settled the nerves. With our main title rivals Juventus losing we now go three points in front. Amazing how only three games ago we was four points behind, just goes to show how quickly things can change so I can possibly see this going down to the wire.
From 1 bad performance to another, to another within the last week leading to 3 straight defeats. We knew AC would play C and wanted to match them considering we have the better team despite being away from home and we knew the first goal would be crucial and unfortunately it went Milan's way shortly after half time.
We were now chasing the game and to be honest, playing into AC's game plan of hitting us on the counter attack. Within 6 minutes it was 2-0 and then 3-0 and the game was over.
We added a goal late on but got nothing from the game as we never really got going.
Statistically, AC were the better team and deserved the win as we were really poor today. There's something about AC Milan that we can't seem to figure out, that's a league double over us the past 2 seasons now and this one really hurts our season.
Bit of a bore draw this one. I'm not sure why we opted to go back to a cautious approach, though we did switch it up during the match.
We edged the stats, but there wasn't much in it, if Chuk had been more clinical with his shooting we might have come away with three points but it was not to be. At least Sanches managed to come away from his injury scare unscathed.
Still on an unbeaten run I guess, but a win here would have been nice, gg dude.
Into a couple of tricky games now against CL sides, which will be a good test of our ambitions for next season.
Never going to be an easy game with two of the attacking players missing. Atletico gave a debut to new signing M_Adopo. Marsh wanted to play european style but didnt really have the right players to fit into it so it was a patched up effort. R_Sessegnon (9) pushed into an unfamiliar attacking midfield role did what the manager wanted by scoring the only goal of the game early on. Chances fell to both sides in a 16-10 shot overall shot count.
The match got more scrappy towards the end when two bizarre substitutions from Marsh severely weakened his team for the last third of the game.
Marsh explained "We like to sort out teamsheets out quite early and had more or less completed it straight after the last game. However, with the possibility of deals going through we didnt complete it. We then completely forgot about the game until late in the day and sent it what we thought was a completed teamsheet only to find two players entering the field of play that shouldnt have. We had a 4-12-17 playing in defensive midfield for 21 minutes!!".
Marsh continued "We were relieved to get the three points all things considered what with players missing and then my shocking mistakes. With other sides mainly winning it was imperative we did the same".
