    Newcastle United 0 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

A decent point against a team who, not long ago, were top of the league. We knew it would be a tough game and we wanted to hit Spurs on the counter and they came to attack us gifting us TA. A bit of a dull even game even when Tottenham switched to P on 50 minutes.

Statistically it was a very even game so a point was fair on both teams.

    Good game Tim

      Cardiff 0 - 0 Chelsea

Chelsea had 5 players walking a yellow card tightrope tonight, with the CL SF 2nd leg in the back of our minds. We rested both of our FWs and also Lamptey in defence. Our skeleton screw were very good value for a win here but couldn't break down Cardiff despite them losing their GK to injury 1/3 into the game replacing him with an 18r in goal - and we walk away disappointed with just a point. Sequeria got a yellow card and misses Wednesday's big game.

        MANCHESTER UNITED 1-0 Everton

We started very bright and managed the goal in the first half, we kept to our plan then once Everton opened up and attacked the game kind became a bit more back and forth. In the second half a we lost it apparently! Goal scorer Valverde first saw Red leaving a tough game with 10 men, then the oddest of referee decisions meant 10 minutes later Luis Diaz also walked for winning the ball!

We held Everton out after that, it obviously turned out a closer game on the stats and in the circumstances it is a big win for us as we head into a massive run of games, the first one, again, with players unavailable. In suspensions alone we've had players miss a total of 14 games this season, add to the big injuries we've had it feels like a rarity to pick a full quota, I mentioned it last week, maybe we should've retained Kalvin Phillips to just keep some depth! If it continues, it may well derail our campaign.

We need a result against Leeds, it'll take a lot of character to ensure we come away from that one with the win.

          Arsenal 2 Liverpool 0

Tough fixture away to a full strength Arsenal and no real shock to come away with nothing to show for our efforts.

In truth we were probably a bit unlucky as the stats were very close but even with the tactical bonus we conceded twice, the 2nd when Arsenal had switched to D which is always a bit annoying.

A defeat which sees us drop 3 points off top spot and our home clash against leaders Man City on Friday really is a must not lose if we want to stay in the title picture.

Before that though yet another big game as we play Rangers at home in the DPT semi final 2nd leg. The Gers defeated EFL1 table toppers Juventus last night which is a further illustration of how tough a task it is. The absence of Akanji doesn't help matters.

Anyway well played Darren, always tough against you.

            Leeds United 2 - 1 Sheffield Wednesday

Another game without a win for Wednesday which wasnt unexpected when away to a title contender. Wednesday did compete for a 23-13 shot count gave the home side a deserving win. Veron scored the goal for the Owls. With all the sides above Wednesday also struggling a couple of wins could kick-start an attempt at staying up but the club has simply forgotten how.

Care-taker manager Simon Marsh commented "Without Tierney it was never easy playing this game with four defenders. It would always mean Leeds getting plenty of chances and we needed a big game from Dunn really. Its another nail in the coffiin".

Financial news did not help the club this week when the coffers were reduced to £3m again. Marsh had managed to stave off red numbers with engineering £3m profit from a keeper trade. It looks like further money will need to be raised to get through to the end of the season. No fewer than 9 clubs are currently sat in the red all needing to get back in the black this week when trading is difficult due to most squads being at 23.

Player minutes wise things are looking bright now.

            Danilo needs only 21 more.
            Wendell needs only 57more.
            Hogan needs 251 more
            Mendy needs only 5more.

              Arsenal 2 - 0 Liverpool

With two defeats in a row for us, Liverpool next up who are flying under Livi right now isn't the fixture we needed nor wanted but as we all know how random it is, our stop start form finally saw us on the right end of a two nil win thanks to goals from Ansu Fati and Joe Gomez.

I posted after the defeat to Barnsley that it was an even game and we didn't deserve to lose and that is the case for Liverpool in this one as they had the better of some of the stats and more than deserved something but its a win we will grab with both hands as we badly needed one and hopefully be able to push on in the next round.

A decision has been made and that is that the club are going to consider offers on some of their better players as we look to try and recruit a few top youngsters for the roster.

Played Liv, best of luck in the title charge mate.
