SHAKHTAR DONETSK 2-4 Benfica

We tried to be positive knowing their back line was depleted but that was a risk given they have a far superior attack, and generally a much better team. We took a risk and it backfired really in result but the effort was there and we gave a good team a bloody good game, although we did go 4 goals down. We've got work to do we know that, we stay in the front mix but we do need improvements on and off the pitch. That's been evident for a while, but there isn't much we can do with those restrictions, we'll keep working with what we have.

We tried today, but it just wasn't good enough in the end.

Atalanta 0-0 Villarreal

We were the better side even with 10 men but unfortunately couldn’t force a break through. The point keeps us in the top two however so that’s a positive. Missing Palacios for the next game is a blow given his good form but we have Stanisic available to come in and replace him which is a nice option.
The challenge is try and maintain our league position while trying to lower the age of our squad. Easier said than done!
