BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We started off brightly in the first half but Inter came back into it and the tie was relatively even at the break at 0-0. The 2nd half belonged to Chelsea as AWB scored the opener and the Spice Boys threatened to make it two. Inter did have a late penalty claim denied and looked threatening towards the end but Chelsea won the stats away which was a suprise and we will gladly take the slim one goal lead into the second leg at the Bridge.
With AC Milan having a key defender missing we decided to go for it. Normally, we would be more conservative in such a big game, and perhaps in reflection we went a little too gung ho. We also had the opportunity to close down the game at 1 up , but made the choice to push for another goal, which was perhaps a little rash. We still have everything to play for and we now just have an away semi final tie standing between us and our third successive CL final. With the better GK and shooting stats, we might take our chances with a penalty shootout, and keep the return leg tight.
