    MANCHESTER UNITED 2-2 Barnsley

Well that's 2 games where we have let a 2 goal lead slip late one and it's quite concerning. These two games should've seen us take 6 points but we have 2. We should be much safer at the top but it's so tight and with big games creeping up, we need to improve.

On the game we deserved to race to a 2 goal lead, we started the best of the two, but complacency crept in and we allowed Barnsley to get at us and in the end they did deserve something from the tie. We can't bemoan anything there at all, well done to Barnsley for their character late on.

We need to wake up simply, we have a huge cup tie next and we know we have to improve!

      Liverpool 1 - 0 Chelsea

Always a tricky game away to Livi. Especially when they swap half their team to fade multiple injuries and suspensions, but thats good management with big games coming. For this one, we had one eye on other games too and decided to rest our new striker signed from Leeds Berardi with him being on 8DP. Unfortunately it seems that I forgot to remove a conditional when 1 goal up to switch one of our strikers to AM, as we only played 1 FW rather than 2 due to the resting. With the sheet error reported above it seems like we must have scored first in the OG game before crashing it by going 0 strikers accidently. So we kick ourselves for that as in the official game we put in a dismal showing using a new formation and lose an unsatisfying game. That said, I'm a fan of numbers over the long term, not the short term, so we will not bin the new formation and tactic right away.

Goretzka saw a red card too which see's him miss 2 games, including the FA Cup Semi Final which is a big blow, but at least Man Utd also will be missing Porro too so it's equal on that footing. That said despite taking 4 points from 6 off Utd in the league, we still consider ourselves underdogs to them in the semi as Man Utd are a very good team and the table does not lie. So we will need a better showing next game if the Spice Boys are to make an FA Cup Final.

        Blackburn Liverpool rovers 6-1 Leicester

a great return to winning ways, left ourselves short in midfield but we duly delivered in front of goal for a change and good to finally see salah turn up and the three new Liverpool boys getting as assist each.

          Arsenal 2 - 0 Newcastle United

A poor day at the office for us, C vs C pretty early on and the hosts went ahead in the 26th minute, we switched to P to try to get something going and it backfired as we gave up TA.

1-0 became 2 when Arsenal added a second before the break.

The second half saw no more goals as we’d switched to A and Arsenal had stuck with C and we ran out well deserved losers in this one, hardly creating a thing.

          Good game Darren

            Liverpool 1 Chelsea 0

Read the Chelsea PMR and it was a load of gobbledygook in all honesty. I'm only interested in the match report I witnessed and it showed us winning 1-0 with a dominant 14-4 shot count.

We went into the game without the injured Mudryk which was a blow as he's been performing well of late and we also chose to start with Mahrez on the bench as we knew that he was one booking from a suspension. However with the game still level 57 mins in we introduced Mahrez to try and boost our attacking threat and 15 minutes later the winning goal came albeit from an unlikely source in the form of new signing Diego Carlos. We actually started the game with 5 debutants - all signed from Blackburn - in the side and it was encouraging to see them performing so well particularly the 2 lads at the back.

Our fans booed Rudiger throughout and we don't blame them. A player that quite honestly should not have been allowed to sign straight back for Chelsea. No excuses whatsoever. Weak from the FFO hierarchy who should have stood tall and ruled against it however a precedent has now been set that others will quite rightly expect to be allowed to follow.

              Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 1 Burnley

Another point for Wednesay but another winless game under the caretakering of Marsh. A shot count of 10-7 perhaps didnt take advantage of Burnleys 10men from 57 minutes. Again squad retention taking precendent perhaps contributed to not finding a winning goal here.
